Maybe, just maybe Twitter are catching on. It would seem a series of my tweets were reported and were found not to be in violation of their rules:

Hello,

We have received a complaint regarding your account, for the following content.

Tweet ID: 1064942244640247809
Tweet Text: @BBCNews Yet it can afford to fund this: [url]

Tweet ID: 1064954044538658817
Tweet Text: @BBCWomansHour @Bex_Stinson @helenlewis Perhaps because regrets do happen and this factor is potentially damaging to the ideology? [url]

Tweet ID: 1064175345509810176
Tweet Text: 17 autistic children in one school indoctrinated into believing they are the opposite sex #eugenics Whistleblower teacher makes shocking claim that 'most are autistic' [url] via @MailOnline

Tweet ID: 1064674263922368512
Tweet Text: The full transcript of the debacle of a conversation on @BBCWomansHour between @Docstockk , @sally_hines and @janegarvey1 can be accessed here, read it and weep at the insanity of the "gender professor": [url]

Tweet ID: 1064674811778162688
Tweet Text: What is even more sickening is that students pay up to £9k per annum to be taught by this charlatan

Tweet ID: 1064856541642350592
Tweet Text: @BBCWomansHour @Bex_Stinson @helenlewis It is a very real concern that parents for example would not want their children in the same intimate spaces as a "transperson" who has not had surgical interventions as to all intent and purposes they are members of the opposite sex.

We have investigated the reported content and could not identify any violations of the Twitter Rules (support.twitter.com/articles/18311) or applicable law. Accordingly, we have not taken any action at this time.

Sincerely,

Twitter

Sorry they used the word division not hate.

And it is not clear what they mean beyond that they will take an interest in terms in the content hosted by the platforms they use. As a advertiser they have huge power. I hope they use it wisely.

And sorry if this is a divert from Twitter itself. I wanted to log this one, and this seemed as good a place as any. And indeed may reflect one set of pressures Twitter are under when considering policy.

And indeed may reflect one set of pressures Twitter are under when considering policy.

The effective pressure and use of policies, algorithms etc by TRAs on Twitter has been going on for some time.
Many within the transgender community call it 'TransTwitter'.

Badmoonsarising · 24/11/2018 10:09

Twitter has tightened up, transborg are gleefully tweeting that they can get all the terfs banned now, esp going after Glinner. I’ve been given a 7 day ban myself, possibly indefinite if I don’t delete my naughty tweets. So stay frosty out there folks as they are gleefully gunning for ya.

Needmoresleep · 24/11/2018 10:22

And I assume only the right wing are sufficiently organised to fight against this.

thewitchofwentworth · 24/11/2018 10:59

Twitter has apparently changed their terms of service to ban "dead naming" and "misgendering".

AngryAttackKittens · 24/11/2018 11:06

What I'm getting from the current Twitter situation is that there are lots of transwomen working for Twitter (and probably not many transmen, based on how little anyone at Twitter HQ seems to care what's said about or to them).

I'd be more inclined to take their statements about not wanting anyone's feelings to be hurt seriously if they weren't so willing to allow any bugger who feels like it to threaten to rape and murder women on their platform.

arranfan · 24/11/2018 11:07

The voices of contemporary humourists have become vital as the US faces the real and rising spectre of fascism, with the ascendency of Donald Trump as a demagogue and extreme right wing political forces gaining influence and threatening a grasp on actual power. Though unorganised, the community of humourists has created a vanguard against tyranny with a popular voice enunciating an in-depth, while hilarious, analysis of facts. As with any artist, humourists have one social responsibility – to do their work.

AngryAttackKittens · 24/11/2018 11:11

Interesting to apply the above to Glinner, isn't it?

R0wantrees · 24/11/2018 11:13

Interesting to apply the above to Glinner, isn't it?

I'm curious about what Ricky Gervais does in the near future.

arranfan · 24/11/2018 11:17

And Robert Webb.

Sadly, I'm expecting nothing from Jo Brand or any of the others.

Frances Barber will be worth watching.

OlennasWimple · 24/11/2018 12:35

See, I agree with a ban on deadnaming where it's done for spurious or malicious purposes. For example

Transwoman Joanna Jones tweets a picture of a puppy in a Santa hat

Twitter user replies "Urgh, it's still November. And Joanna Jones used to be a man called John Jones"

^^ Irrelevant, unnecessary and possibly malicious

But if John Jones had been sent to prison for child molestation but was now asking to be known as Joanna and get transferred to a female prison, it would be absolutely relevant to say, "Hang on, Joanna used to be John"

IYSWIM

Twitter has apparently changed their terms of service to ban "dead naming" and "misgendering".

Just like WordPress's new rules as of Nov 13th...

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 24/11/2018 14:50

DH has just got suspended from Twitter for this tweet....

Meghan Murphy was permanently banned from Twitter today - basically for saying men are not women, apparently.

Looks like the Twitter types are upping the game.

Go Glinner!

(Interesting to see the absolute fruitcakes crawling out of the woodwork to say "you're just having a go at these poor women because they don't pass, some women are sex offenders, get over it..." How do the people tweeting these things manage to get so utterly divorced from reality? Do they actually believe it? Are they in it for the shitz n' gigglz? Are they just evil? I don't get how someone can look at Glinner's tweet about Karen White, mentioning that while placed in a women's prison, White went on to sexually assault several women with White's penis, and think that the point Glinner is making is that White is ugly!)

R0wantrees · 24/11/2018 18:49

Francis Crook executive director of the Howard League for Penal Reform "said that she was worried that ‘some men with a history of extreme violence and sexual violence against women have found a new way of exercising aggression towards women’.

‘These men are not transitioning because they like women and want to be a woman, but in order to exert a new kind of control and dominance over women, a sort of infiltration."

Claude Knights (safeguarding expert retired after 15 years as head of Kidscape, now involved with anti bullying charity and Westminster Safeguarding group)
on sex offenders who transition and are afforded the opportunity to change their name and hide their history as a consequence & recent case of "Christopher Noble, 32, transitioned to Christyl Knight while behind bars for keeping a stash of over 4,000 vile pictures and videos of kids as young as six months old"

“Allowing these individuals to hide a secret past is a dangerous practice.”
“Anyone who’s fuelled the vile trade in indecent images of children and therefore contributed to their sexual abuse should not be allowed to change their name.”

I'm in Twitter prison again. For this:

It's honestly a joke. I'm so pissed off. Nothing hateful about what I have said. Nothing. I have appealed.

Yeah, fizzing, since censorship didn't work on you have you considered yielding to emotional blackmail instead? If that doesn't work either perhaps traceyracer could walk in front of you with a bell chanting "Shame!" wherever you go.

LangCleg · 08/01/2019 08:55

but even if your Tweets aren't against Twitter rules, have you considered that some of your content may be offensive to others if you are being reported for it

I'm not on Twatter, what with it being a cesspit of misogyny an' all, but if I were: yes, I would have considered that and I wouldn't have given a shit if a bunch of privileged, sexist regressives were offended by my pointing it out.

Bowlofbabelfish · 08/01/2019 11:57

JY has been reporting literally everything which contains JYs name/initials/reference to them and any kind of negative content, and also any sort of he/him wording.

Twitter is indeed broken.

Some further reading for those interested: google Dana Macallum rape
There’s a photo of JY with the co founder of twitter circulating online.
There are insinuations on the KF thread about JY that they have a contact at twitter (perhaps via HH?)

Clearly twitter aren’t worried about what a backlash will do to their share price.

The yaniv thread on kiwifarms is worth a read.
