Seems from this report yet another young trans person from a toxic household.

"Yesterday a jury convicted his wife, Hayley Weatherall, 32; her lover, Glenn Pollard, 49; and his son, Arthur, 20, of conspiracy tomurder. Arthur is transgender and was tried at Maidstone crown court under his birth name of Heather....

Pollard Jr denied shooting Mr Weatherall, claiming that he had been in the area having sex with a stranger he met while out dog-walking."

Yet another crime committed by a male that will be logged as having been committed by a woman presumably.

Interesting that The Times isn't using female pronouns here.

If their birth name is Heather and they are now Arthur aren’t they a transman?

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 16/11/2018 20:06

Well spotted. You are right.

Wonder if Arthur will be sent to a male prison then?

Opposite surely

Yes - if convicted, this will be a crime committed by a woman attributed to a man if we follow logic.

However, by and large, it seems that trans men are retained in the female prison estate so I confess myself ignorant. It might be worth seeing if Richard Garside has a comment on this if anyone is on Twitter (I'm not).

Might be worth asking Harrop whether he’ll be fighting for the ‘right’ to move Arthur to a male prison - whether he wants it or not.

Bespin · 17/11/2018 06:45

Arthur will indeed be placed in a male prison with appropriate protections if legal documents are male though being tried under original name would suggest not so female legally and crime recorded as such same is true for all. crimes. though different parts of the criminal. justice system have different ways of recording crime.

Hang on a sec, wasn't that male transwoman who was found guilty of assaulting a woman last year addressed by the court as a woman? And the woman they had assaulted was penalised for refusing to lie and instead using the biologically correct pronouns?

But in this case that 'courtesy' is not extended to a female transman.
