How self absorbed do you have to be.
West yorkshire police better not have time for this when they can't even make a call back to a grandmother who was offered money for her 4month old grandson in Leeds managed zone.
They should charge steph with wasting police time.
Don't like It here, don't come here. Simple.
How thick are these people.

Ereshkigal · 13/11/2018 11:09

Sandy 😁

Datun · 13/11/2018 11:52

The press are going to have such a field day with this.

West Yorkshire police warn mumsnet that their members are not allowed to say women don't have penises.

Datun · 13/11/2018 11:53

And yes, whatever this twat is basing their complaint on, that's what the press will say.

Datun · 13/11/2018 11:55

Also Why West Yorkshire police? They are seriously beginning to look nobbled.

BirdsEyeFrozen · 13/11/2018 12:17

Sandy, I want a giant picture, mug, t shirt oxoxoxo Grin

A fiver on Greater Manchester Police getting the " I pay my taxes" speech. To which the Sarge should reply " No Comment", or alternatively, " No, Gene Hunt is not firing up the Quattro, now feck off".

Judge Rinder for me too Hamster.

MNHQ if only Rumpole were still with us. There has been nowt like this since the Penge Bungalow Murders.
Or..erm..the Linehan "case".

slug · 13/11/2018 12:25

Interesting...Why would a London located "lawyer" who has a beef with a London located website choose to complain the the South Yorkshire police? Is the local nick not good enough?

BirdsEyeFrozen · 13/11/2018 12:30

South Yorkshire slug?
Have you won my fiver? Chiz

Yambabe · 13/11/2018 12:31

Hi Steph. Just for the record I don't like you much. Not because you're transgender though, I don't give a stuff about that.

I don't like you because you are not a nice person. If you want to be something of a social media darling and are trying to set yourself up for fame and fortune it's probably best not to have too many dodgy behaviours in your past, especially if those behaviours are in the public domain

Perpetual victimhood is not a good look for anyone. Have a nice day though.

Hamster00 · 13/11/2018 12:36

I think I'll just leave this here:

ABitCrapper · 13/11/2018 12:49

To be fair I think I would be upset if someone started a thread just to talk about all my other public social media posts - I would feel quite got at.
Not sure I'd go to the police however, and I would certainly have a think about posting less publicly.
I think if you post stuff up on public access media, then you are inviting people to talk about the content of your posts. It's kind of the point? Otherwise you are talking to yourself, which is never a good look. Maybe it is the fact that it is posts on another platform is the problem?

madmum5811 · 13/11/2018 13:04

Been thinking about this, say you had a complaint about your MIL SIL whatever, and were outed could said MIL SIL have a justified case against mumsnet?

Spero · 13/11/2018 13:08

Hello any police officer reading this. I also have very grave concerns about the behaviour of the person identifying as Stephanie Hayden. If by voicing these concerns on a public forum, in response to public statements made by Ms Hayden is now bizarrely some kind of criminal offence then I am very happy to be arrested, questioned and charged. I am free tomorrow morning until about noon.

Do please DM me for my location. You could ask my local force to carry out the interview I assume.

But I sincerely hope the police have much better things to do.

ABitCrapper · 13/11/2018 13:09

But that would be about something that had happened in Real Life. Not something you had publicly puBLished on social media. So that would be making public something that happened in private... Different?

madmum5811 · 13/11/2018 13:11

interesting found this.

Hmmm. And what about this
twitter.com/PaulLevene/status/1062255147802390529

So 'thoughts' are despicable now too? I can see where this is going and it is very disturbing indeed.

pancaketosser · 13/11/2018 13:23

I would be too, but there are threads all over MN about people who have chosen to put themselves out there and many of those threads are not pleasant. Men and women. If I could be arsed, I could look at the first page of AIBU and find some. Are all those going to be shut down as well?

What about twitter and facebook? If MN is breaching the equality act in some way, then many platforms are and WYP will be very busy

madmum5811 · 13/11/2018 13:25

Putting aside sex gender, whatever you want to call it. If you knew of a person who swung a golf club which is a terrifying thought, wouldn`t you avoid that person. I think your generally law abiding person is afraid of law breakers no matter who they are.

We do avoid the violent, when we can, it is a gut response. We may be protecting ourselve, loved ones or even a vulnerable person we see in the street.

We are hard wired as human beings I hope to avoid conflict but protect the weak.

If a person refers to themself as a 'Current Affairs Commentator' they are surely expecting to be in the public eye with everything that involves.

Spero · 13/11/2018 14:30

I have just had a DM from someone worried about the whole harassment issue so I sent a link to this post I wrote about the current state of the law - I don't pretend to be expert but its an area I am very interested in as the dividing line between permissible free speech and criminal hate speech sometimes seems very blurred.

the link is here if anyone is interested or wants reassurance. I really don't see how discussion of matters of public interest can ever or should ever be a matter for the police.

TLDR provided you don't descend into personal abuse I cannot see that the line has been crossed into criminality.

To be honest I avoid any boring bugger who plays golf. 'A good walk spoiled' as Mark Twain said.

EchoCardioGran · 13/11/2018 14:55

Shed load of Hot Fuzz here Spero plus prison officers, firefighters and for some reason specialist health care professionals, including a trick cyclist. That's the extended family.
I blame the dressing up box myself.
A few on their way over now. I'll show them the thread, and will not resist arrest.

RedToothBrush · 13/11/2018 15:01

"I want a public plaform to voice my opinions and beliefs and influence others as a social media personality and activist."

People comment and don't like that opinion, those beliefs and tell social media personality / activist / politician in no uncertain terms they have their own opinions, concerns and are worried about the intent of the public personality which is in part related to the personal credibility, history and interests of the social media personality.

"I am being harassed. I am being treated unfairly. Is it cos I is black trans? Ban them. Sort them out"

Er no its cos your a dubious individual, who I wouldn't trust with a barge pole in a political context because of your past. You know like how the press look at the background of any other activist or politician. And comments like 'sort them' out don't exactly make me change my mind, they just reaffirm my original opinion that you should be kept as far away from a position of power as possible, because of the risk of abusing that power.

Funny that.

Polkasq · 13/11/2018 15:02

And biological women have never been ridiculed on the internet etc...?!!

papayasareyum · 13/11/2018 15:07

Okay, let me get this straight:
They share their opinions robustly on Twitter, inviting others to comment.
Other people have different, similarly robust opinions and share them.
Then follows a complaint to the actual police because other people have different views to theirs?
Hopefully, because the West Yorkshire police were very publically criticised and ridiculed for their post about thought crime, they’ll want to run away very far and very fast from anything as silly as this.
