I guess, if you squint hard enough, feminists are pretty keen to have more people locked up for rape, for example. Is that what they're getting at? Not exactly short for magazine. Fanzine was derived from the word magazine when science fiction and then music fans started producing them. Then the subject matter diversified and zines started coming out that weren’t really related to necessarily being a fan of anything, but just found the medium easy and convenient.
