Grin reality-based tweeting for the win!

ThisMadnessMustStop · 06/11/2018 06:33

Lovely start to the day, thank you!

Plessis · 06/11/2018 06:42

Ha! Excellent

NotTerfNorCis · 06/11/2018 06:51

Wow. I hope he read all those replies!

InfiniteSheldon · 06/11/2018 07:12

Wow

bottomflannel · 06/11/2018 08:06

*Cis means "not a trans woman".

So if you go around saying "Not cis!" well, people are bound to think you're saying you are trans.

I'm a cis woman myself: I don't see a problem with identifying myself as not trans.*

FUUUUCCCCKKKK OFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!

bottomflannel · 06/11/2018 08:06

Sorry, bold fail.

Floisme · 06/11/2018 08:31

When I read Sam Levin and that US Guardian piece it really helps me understand the words ‘President Trump’.

HamiltonCork · 06/11/2018 08:33

That was most entertaining

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 06/11/2018 08:56

Well put, Floisme. My thoughts exactly.

irishfeminist · 06/11/2018 09:19

The absolute fucking state of the American "left" Sad

Most of my American friends would never speak to me again if they knew my views on this.

teawamutu · 06/11/2018 09:19

That was fantastic. Is there the tiniest chance that reality is starting to return?

stillathing · 06/11/2018 13:05

I thought this response was beautifully put

You tell us our fear is ungrounded, but take away the language to describe reality at the same time, so by a sleight of hand the world is as you want it and we can never prove otherwise. It's gaslighting of the first order to force ppl to deny what's in front of their eyes.

Andtheresaw · 06/11/2018 13:20

Right, but America voted in an unashamed sexual predator and misogynist as President, so we (the UK) really don't have to listen to how they think women should stand aside.

niceberg · 06/11/2018 13:23

What a refreshing load of tweets!

gendercritter · 06/11/2018 13:29

That was very heartening! Thank you

teawamutu · 06/11/2018 13:43

I read through them all but didn't go for the further option with all the offensive material, is that where the rape and death threats were? Because I can't believe there weren't any, what with women having opinions based on science and all...

This has been a real "the tide has turned" moment for me.

Particularly after following the links by Helen Staniland, her crowd funded survey and follow up comments.
Also well worth a read.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 06/11/2018 14:14

@Gncq - do you have a link? Sounds encouraging!

Floisme · 06/11/2018 15:10

Penny Helen Staniland is on the same Twitter thread talking about it - you need to scroll down a bit. There’s also a dude called Evan trying to make out the survey was paid for by the Christian Right donating blood diamonds. Or something. Until someone asks him whether he ever quizzes Stonewall about their transparency.
