Currently discussing how terrible it is giving melatonin to children to help them sleep. Because it is a drug...
Nobody seems to be worried about puberty blockers and cross hormones.
Confused

Why would they? They are for completely different things. It's like complaining they aren't also talking about antibiotics, not lotions and inhalers.

The whole point of the discussion was around unnecessary medication and children. They drew a clear distinction between children with, for example, autism, and children whose parents obtain medication without medical advice.
I think there are parallels.

It’s not possible to obtain melatonin on the nhs without a referral from a psychiatrist or a paediatrician. There will be no children prescribed melatonin who don’t need it.

You can buy melatonin in supermarkets in France. Maybe that's why they wanted us to leave the EU?

Endofthelinefinally · 03/11/2018 11:53

You can buy it on line easily.
I guess I was surprised this warranted a discussion on an international news channel. I haven't seen any reporting or discussion around other life changing drugs.
Except for a tiny mention of the doctor who got struck off recently. Sorry the name escapes me at the moment. I am not very well and have brain fog.
