It's a tad ironic, isn't it - that Ireland has passed self-id, but allows its girl children to be forcibly corralled into gender-driven clothing stereotypes.

If all the girls in an Irish school collectively declared themselves boys, could they wear trousers?

Fabulous campaigning. Very inspiring!

Word, sister!

Brilliant -thanks for sharing that!

Vicky, I didn't link yo it, but there's a related article link on the one I posted about a similar campaign in another school. It unfortunately segues into trans nonsense so I couldn't bring myself to drag down my positive vibes.

God bless her. Why schools don't have trousers/shorts for all is beyond me. Far more practical.

BettyDuMonde · 02/11/2018 19:01

I hate tights with a passion. Horrible, itchy things. Urgh.

Personally, I think all elements of school uniform should be open to both sexes. I doubt many boys will want to wear a skirt, pinafore or summer dress, but the option should be available.

Good for her!
