Nearly all of my dresses and jumpsuits have pockets, I find it weird that people are saying it's hard to find them.

I'm wearing women's trousers that have pockets. They're empty though. My coat does have a couple of nice sized pockets and a useful zip pocket I can stash my keys in because I'm paranoid about losing them, but I still need a bag to carry my massive purse around with me.
I've just never got into the way of using pockets much, and hate them in kids clothes because they always leave a tissue in them that ruins the whole wash.
As far as that dress goes, it's nice enough if you're into dresses. I can't see how much it costs though.

A lot of men carry bags. They might not use that awful expression "man bag" but carrying a satchel or a small rucksack is quite normal.

the problem with this dress is the wrap front, for me this will always reveal a massive amount of cleavage which always has a tedious effect, and more so if travelling I woud assume

That cash and card slot is just your bra.

It's a good idea but I don't like wrap dresses. I'm also not keen on the keyhole opening in the back, as it seems like an open invitation for some awkwardly placed sunburn!

I tend to wear loose cotton or linen trousers when on holiday as I find covering up is a more effective way of preventing sunburn than constantly applying SPF. I've solved the problem of never having decent pockets by buying men's trousers!

I like the style of the dress, but I would expect a travel dress to accommodate requirements for modesty - covering bare skin etc. - that exist in many of the places I have been to.

I also expected culottes or something beneath the skirt of the dress. Cycling in a flappy wrap dress???

Ew, polyester.

Couldn’t think of anything worse to wear in the heat.

When travelling I usually have a heavy DSLR and lenses, ipad or guide book, sunglasses, reading glasses, ordinary glasses, sunblock, hat, jacket, tissues, heavy wallet, insect spray, keys, phone ... a bag is simply easier.

What irritates me is not so much the lack of pockets on women's clothing, but the fact that his nibs can pop his wallet and passport in his pockets and then ask me to carry his shit for him in the bag (rucksack) I invariably take or rely on me for tissues, sunblock, etc! (Usually, I say 'no').
