Cheshire policeman on trial for the rape of a 13 year old girl joined the force in order to obtain access to vulnerable children.

Even though abusive men don't do that, do they? Angry

That poor kid, how brave of her to come forward. She'll have to give evidence now though, because of course he has pled not guilty on the grounds that she consented. She was 13 ffs, and he's already admitted several other child-related sexual offences so why on earth would he make her go through the court process and cross-examination.

When did joining the police become simple?

Forms, medical checks, a variety of interviews, fitness tests, maths and english checks and then training where you could be kicked out for not making the grade

Yep simple

Not simple at all. And yet someone actually jumped through all those hoops when his main motivation was to get into a position in which he would be able to identify and gain access to young girls who he could then rape.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Sexual offenders will go to great lengths to groom and gain access to victims. The law should not be making this easier for them.

I think Rufus is asking Spanna, given that Spanna implied joining the police is easier than self-id...
