Background: Angelous was fired from his roles at Durham University publications The Bubble and Critique after he re-tweeted a James Kirkup Spectator blog called "Is it a crime to say ‘women don’t have penises’?"

Angelous submitted a formal complaint and has been exonerated:

Online apology from DUSU: www.durhamsu.com/articles/apology-to-angelous-sofocleous
Tweet to the formal response letter from DUSU: twitter.com/Sofocleous_A/status/1056874851015761920

As per the DUSU letter, The Bubble have already apologised, albeit tucked well away on the bottom onf their home page and litte more than a rehash of the DUSU wording: www.thebubble.org.uk/editorial/apology-to-angelos-sofocleous/
I expect Critique to be similar prissy about it.

But still, a good news day for free speech.

Well, it's a half-arsed outcome because the man's life is already in tatters and the people responsible are only apologising because they have been forced to.
It won't stop a similar situation coming around to the next GC academic.

Does this mean he's entitled to get his job back or just that he can now claim unfair dismissal?

Update on the update, sadly:

Less than 24 hours after the publicization of the decision of Durham Students’ Union (DSU) to declare my firings as ‘unfair and undemocratic’, TRAs have already forced DSU officers to dissociate themselves from the decision. (The thread is worth reading)

Good for Angeleous for sticking to his guns.

This reveals how victimhood culture at universities aims to bypass democratic procedures and principles,

Not just universities. Political parties (see: David Challenor) and government at both local level and national. As well as various organisations like the nhs, police, sporting bodies etc.

Think about what this means. We have a top down ideology, not a grassroots movement. It’s not supported by the majority of the populace. It seeks to remove rights from half the populace and endanger minors. It’s funded as far as we can see by some very rich individuals.

And it’s able to circumvent our basic democratic principles . Whatever your views on transgenderism, that should make you very worried indeed.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if the cognitive dissonance is so complete that some of the academics/universities who would support this nonsense are nonetheless on the ball when it comes to Unis Resist Border Patrols and "resisting the #HostileEnvironment in higher education":
