Butterfly series advertised at cinema?!

Just returned from watching Bohemian Rhapsody at the cinema (and brief pub visit). Before the the film started, after all the adverts, was a promo for the ITV Butterfly series.

Is this not odd? Can’t recall ever seeing an advert for a bloody ITV programme at the cinema in London before.

Commented on weirdness to partner. He thinks i’m ‘paranoid’ . .

Film was great by the way!

It is unusual but I'm pretty sure I've seen a few adverts for TV before. I wouldn't say paranoid though 😂😂 maybe more aware than others.

I hate it though. I hate seeing adverts for it.

Was this a chain or independent? Can you name if a chain?

Rabidgingercat · 27/10/2018 00:45

It was an Everyman cinema.

Maybe not so weird. I probably don’t go to the cinema often enough Grin.

I did want to stand up when Anna F said ‘rather have a daughter than dead son’ line & inform the of audience that true suicide rate for gender non conforming kids.

Might have got chucked out though. And I was enjoying a nice glass of red at the time Wine

I am so looking forward to seeing Bohemian Rhapsody. Mildly obsessed Queen fan as a teenager, I am agog at how much the actor playing John Deacon looks like him, how well the actor playing Brian May has captured the very particular inflections of his speaking voice and how much like Freddie the bloke from Night At The Museum is.

I go to Everyman cinemas very frequently. ITV has been advertising with them for a while. They always have a slot just prior to the film starting. The last thing they were pushing was some drama with John Sim now it's Butterfly.
Floral Bohemian Rhapsody is great.

The general consensus amongst people I know is that Butterfly is a heaving pile of boring shite anyway and most of them turned over before the end of ep.1.
Maybe ITV hire Everyman (telling name?) in an attempt to promote their failing dramas....
