DP helpfully suggested UK was probably no better. 2 per week is obviously not great but then I googled Australia population and there are only 25m of them so that’s even worse.

This makes it sound like you don't want to discuss male violence if it's white men. Therefore racist. May not have been your intention but your attitudes to non-white people are evident in all your posts. You seem keen to make violence a race issue (And also a complex, hard to solve race issue) rather than a sex issue. It could be you don't want to recognise that all men have the potential to murder women, even nice, middle class, white men. Maybe it makes you feel uncomfortable to face that.

Women have run women only workshops and services, these often attempt to include women from insular and patriarchal communities, and these are gradually being closed by austerity measures and MRA agitation.

Worldwide, male entitlement and violence is the core problem faced by women.

We have a couple of people bitten by sharks and every shark has a price on its head. A few dozen women are killed by domestic partners or strangers and oh well, she shouldn't have been doing X Y or Z should she.

There is a good FB page called Destroy the Joint which updates regularly the number of women murdered (as well as other issues affecting women in Australia).

As others have said, being Indigenous means that there is a higher percentage that you will be involved in family violence, be sexually assaulted, be a victim of child abuse, be an alcoholic and die much earlier.

Why is this happening? To be perfectly Australian, fucked if i know.
