Last year, YouGov asked 538 menstruators about their experiences of period pain in the workplace; 57% said it had affected their work

FFS. Cheeringly, there are many horrified comments underneath the tweet.

Sorry, that tweet should have been in bold:
"Last year, YouGov asked 538 menstruators about their experiences of period pain in the workplace; 57% said it had affected their work"

I didn’t know menstruation was a job, let alone that there are workplaces set aside for it.

AspieAndProud · 25/10/2018 17:16

At least you’d get maternity leave.

Love this response.

I saw that tweet. It didnt go down well did it?

VickyEadie · 25/10/2018 17:21

The Guardian's decision to use that word wasn't even accurate - the women polled were not solely women who currently menstruate (probably because some of us who did it for 40-50 years but no longer do menstruate still have a lot of data to add to the survey) and some of them never have done.

The poke has a nice summary of some of the responses...

Thread that gives a shout out to Janice Turner for her response to Guardian's "menstruators": www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3405022-A-moment-of-pause-to-venerate-Janice-Turner

In a while testicle really made me chuckle Grin

Avegemitesandwich · 25/10/2018 18:45

What the fuck is this 'its because not all women menstruate' bollocks? Why does that mean you can't refer to 'women' as a collective? They are the only ones who ha e periods so by using 'women' you see covering everyone who has a period.

I don't menstruate at the moment. Am I not a woman? Will I become a woman again if/when I start menstruate? Should I be offended by 'women' being used to describe people who have periods?

What is this batshittery?

FekkoThePenguin · 25/10/2018 18:47

"Last year, YouGov asked 538 office workers about their experiences of period pain in the workplace; 57% said it had affected their work"

No stupid word needed. We all know what it means. Twits.

FruminousBandersnatch · 25/10/2018 18:52

I’d be down with this if they also referred to men as ejaculators.

placemats · 25/10/2018 19:02

Would the Guardian call a head of state a menstruator?

Would the Guardian call female children refugees menstruators?

At what age does a menstruator start?

The Guardian can fuck off.

placemats · 25/10/2018 19:04

So Jeremy Corbyn is an ejaculator?

tobee · 25/10/2018 19:16

I can think of a few other choice words for Corbyn as well

OvaHere · 25/10/2018 19:19

I watched a crime show recently where a serial killer referred to women as bleeders to dehumanise them.

This seems to be the level The Guardian has sunk to.

Juells · 25/10/2018 19:23

Haha that vulvamort tweet was a classic.

IStandWithPosie · 25/10/2018 19:26

poor that’s a good one! Grin

How ridiculous. Menstruators. So what are men? Semen containers?

Thingybob · 25/10/2018 19:35

Slightly off topic but an observation on this whole (toxic) debate. The womxn that are considered t**fs, are generally able to make a serious point but in a witty, non personal way. The womxn that are TRAs just don't get it. The only way they know how to respond is to be aggressive and attack an individual. Bit like domestic violence?

#Guardiansongs now trending on twitter in the UK

IdahoCrow · 26/10/2018 00:35

I'm not 'a menstruator' any more since that big brute of a doctor had my womb out, but I've still got some very strong opinions on scented panty liners.
