Interesting results. It's a properly conducted opinion poll which Helen Staniland crowdfunded. I've got to go in a minute so can't post all the headline findings. Maybe somebody else could do that?

The figures for women were in fact 53%/20%/27%

But note the high % of don't knows - only 23% of even the 18-24 cohort positively expressed a view for sending TW w/dicks to female prison.

If you want to poll on whether the public's attitude differs on transgender vs transsexual, which is what I think you are trying to say, feel free to crowdfund and commission.

Many of us here contributed to this crowdfunder. We would like to discuss the results of what we paid for, not be deflected to someone else's wants and wishes.

Except look at the results for smear tests? I think they are confused. They repeat TWAW because they've been told to for a very long time. But I am not convinced that they feel it.

This was funded by, commissioned and for women, not everything is about everyone.

The smear test results say that TW should be allowed to perform smear tests if it's made clear that they are TW. That's surely no different from a male nurse doing a smear test with consent? Also permissible.

I’d like to ask

(a) ‘Do you think a male bodied person committed for theft belongs in a women’s prison?’

and

(b) ‘Do you think a male bodied person committed for rape belongs in a women’s prison?’

Because the difference between these cases isn’t their gender.

If transwomen are women then they all belong in the female estate, not just the safe ones.

I agree, I just worry that the brainwashing program will in time be effective. I mean clearly, if there's strong public disapproval of a program then it's hopefully not going to happen, but if at some point the population is 1/3 for, 1/3 against, 1/3 don't know, then that could go through.

There was outright majority support for 'transwomen with penises are men', 'no penises in women's sport', 'no penises in women's changing rooms', and 'penis people should not go in women's prisons'

Well, there are bound to be a group of hard core genderists in any representative segment of the population. The encouraging thing is that this hard core is only 12% of the population, no matter how loudly the activists shriek and how much their powerful and influential backers try to steer public opinion.

A self identified person still represents a risk to women.

The sheer number of "Don't know" responses is fascinating and it's reasonably consistent across the age groups.

Relative to the number of people who are dodgy about the relationship of the earth and sun and basic science, I'm rather impressed by some of those majority results.

Wow. All I have done was to suggest the questions considered transgender as too broad a group and that would significantly impact the study.

Just want to know about the smear test thing... Can TW have one then? Does that mean they are still a woman? ,or not. What is it that's so confusing about this

Totally agree that vast numbers are unaware of the issues, and youngsters are so brain-washed as to have no boundaries or allow themselves judgements against any!
