I wonder if there is any petition about this case. I cannot imagine a judge saying that if this evil mad had killed a judge.

It is absurd of them to say it was too long. If I have my maths right, he won't be eligible for parole until he is 72 (as opposed to 75, as per the original sentence), so at least they didn't cut the minimum tariff by much. But it's still absurd.

That was a disappointing article by Yahoo. It doesn't say why the appeal against sentence was made nor why it was agreed by the Appeal Judges.

The case isn't listed on BAILII either (not yet anyway)

I think it happened up north and there was a northern newspaper article will try to find. Obviously should say man not mad on my opening post.

It's the wording I object to as well. It just feels like this poor woman, who is a daughter, a mother, a wife, an employee (and doubtless friend to others) has been de-valued.
