So Stonewall are not happy that anyone can wear the costume of an Olympic champion, it's a cruel joke if anyone wears this as it hurts the feelz Jenner.

It seems lost on TRAs that women feel some people are putting on a costume of woman and TRAs can't control other people.

Anyway this is covered in the mail, when I link it doesn't work for some reason.

I'm offended that they sell that plastic crap for the grand old price of £26 more than anything else 😂 that's all I'm protesting for lol

What Stonewall never seem to consider is this. To me, as a woman, Caitlyn Jenner, despite all his expensive surgery and clothes/hair/make up is just as much a man as the bearded guy in the advert wearing the costume.

So I don't find the costume offensive, just as I don't find the "costume" that Jenner wears offensive. What I am offended by is the insistence by some that they are a woman.

If I dress up as a skeleton at Halloween ? Well, you know the rest of the sentence........

I think that outfit is very obviously lampooning Jenner (with that vest number there is no way it can be dismissed as just a generic US athlete), plus the title of the item on Amazon specifies Jenner. That and the fat beardy bloke in the advert makes this look like bullying of a named individual rather than good-natured Halloween japes.
I don't think much of Jenner as a person, but I can't in all honesty say I'm comfortable with this sort of shit being marketed.

FekkoTheLawyer · 23/10/2018 18:12

Looks like the 118 guy. Did Jenner have long hair as an athlete - it was the 1970s wasn't it? How is that a scary costume anyway?

"the 'I am Cait' costume had been sold 40 times and was only available in men's sizes."

Can't think why ...
