Just wondering what might be going on on this day for women. It seems like it would be a good year to really focus on this important day.
It is a UN sponsored day, the UN still hold to female sex-based Women's Rights. The UN do acknowledge that some people have feelings of gender identity, but these are not ratified in any conventions so do not displace sex as the basis of women's rights. Women all over the globe need this day.
CEDAW and Vienna 1993 are very powerful.
Perhaps Karen Ingala Smith's work honouring and remembering murdered women would have a place here. It is work that needs supporting and maybe now with the new groups we have we can capitalise on the networks and bonds that women are building in the face of self ID.
I'm sadly not able to be of much practical help for health reasons, but I thought maybe a thread would be a start.
Of course, the threat to the day is genderist and identity politics and MRAs etc, and people declaring that biology is irrelevant, but maybe we can survive that?
