In response to Liberty lecturing us on the true meaning of feminism (it includes everyone or it' not feminism), the fabulous Prof Stock writes:

Organisations designed to protect freedom of expression support illiberal law changes harmful to females.. libertyhq and AmnestyUK have lost all credibility as far as I can see. If they can’t get this fundamental point right, I can’t depend on them to get anything else right.

Reminder of Prof. Stock's excellent thread on the number of women's organisations that have decentred biological females: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3353260-Kathleen-Stock-womens-organisations-have-decentred-biological-females

Amnesty lost all credibility as far as I was concerned when they became a lobbyist for the rape trade.

Liberty's unilateral redefinition of feminism does not inspire confidence in its other pronouncements, I agree

It's worth noting that Liberty has a history of poor judgement:

The Paedophile Information Exchange was affiliated to the National Council for Civil Liberties - now Liberty - in the late 1970s and early 1980s

It's poor of me but I've never trusted Harman or Hewitt round NCCL since the days of Islington that they didn't ever seem to claim appropriate accountability.

I foamed at the mouth, having read this thread, when listening to an unctuous spokesperson for Amnesty Ireland and ICCL on the news at 7. We have a referendum on 26th, about removing the law against blasphemy, which is a hangover from a time someone burned a bible back in the 1800s.

On the news we were treated to a virtuous lecture about how nobody was entitled to be offended. True, but the same groups believe that everyone should be offended if women say that people can't change sex.

Everyone's rights matter, apart from women's. They're too boring, and old hat.
