I'm impressed that it is possible for Mordaunt to listen when publicly shamed into it (the audience seems to have been in warm support of the protestor).

ijustwannadance · 20/10/2018 15:01

I don't understand how she can stand there talking about how women and children need to be protected whilst doing everything in her power to unsure those same protections are removed.

The other lady is fabulous.

nicenewdusters · 20/10/2018 15:17

Watching that made my heart race. What an amazingly brave woman to take to the stage like that. So composed, so reasonable.

breastfeedingclownfish · 20/10/2018 15:23

Pennt Mordaunt shamelessly standing behind a podium that says 'Safeguarding'

Wow!!! Cheering her on.... so strong... so necessary...

Polkasq · 20/10/2018 18:23

Wow!

gendercritter · 20/10/2018 19:47

That was amazing. Very brave of the protestor. She spoke so well

rightreckoner · 20/10/2018 19:49

I wonder why Penny finds it so hard to listen to women on the GRA? Would it help if I told her she has nice hair?

IKeepFlouncing · 20/10/2018 20:18

Oops Penny breathing like her heart is pounding lol

Also Penny knows the applause was for Alexia Pepper De Caires 👏 and not her right ?

NeurotrashWarrior · 20/10/2018 20:27

Wow! What a woman!

PositivelyPERF · 20/10/2018 20:36

That’s an incredible woman and couldn’t have happened at a better time. No more silencing women!

BigotedWoman · 20/10/2018 21:17

Bravo. Yes she is so calm. I'm surprised they let her stand up there for so long.

Omgineedanamechange · 20/10/2018 21:33

Now THATS what stunning and brave looks like.

zen1 · 20/10/2018 21:42

I’m in awe - what an eloquent woman.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 20/10/2018 22:02

Well done to that amazing woman! As for penny- far too calm.

PierreBezukov · 20/10/2018 22:15

Brilliant. The woman Alexa was excellent. Clearly very angry.

Paperdolly · 20/10/2018 23:16

Here here!!!

I thought Penny Mordaunt handled that well.

FadingMint · 20/10/2018 23:39

That Penny Mordaunt clip reminds me of various episodes of The Thick of It, where various ministers and/or shadow ministers have been absolutely clueless; and they retreat into a generalised word-salad waffle which amounts to being pro motherhood and apple pie, and refusing to climb the mountain of conflict!

FadingMint · 21/10/2018 00:04

Who is the woman who challenged Penny Mordaunt?

I would feel far, far more confident, were I represented by her, rather than Penny Mordaunt!

IKeepFlouncing · 21/10/2018 00:18

The woman was Alexia Pepper De Caires

IKeepFlouncing · 21/10/2018 00:21

On twitter

FadingMint · 21/10/2018 00:21

Thank you, IKeepFlouncing.

Alexia Pepper De Caires is impressive in that clip.

FoldyRoll · 21/10/2018 00:44

Wow. Alexia is amazing, but it's also impressive that Penny listened, didn't interrupt, and handed the summary slot over. She may be more reasonable than we thought.
