Be careful over the weekend if you’re out and about leafleting. These women haters are panicking.

StaringDownTheBarrelOfFifty · 19/10/2018 18:39

I hope their crimes are recorded as having been committed by men.

LangCleg · 19/10/2018 18:40

Choosing to set off smoke outside a newspaper at a time when newspaper offices have been bombed and in a city that’s had many bombings is not just stupid and not just a prank — it’s an acting out. It is a gesture toward violent intent. And if it’s not stopped it will continue to escalate.

Indeed. And what's the betting the BBC and the Guardian won't even notice it's happened.

We're in a dark place in this country.

[trans activists] have posed with axes and bats studded with nails and knives and threatened to kill women

I understated this. Some trans activists have already killed women.

For example:

Noted transgender activist Dana Rivers was arraigned Tuesday on charges of committing a brutal triple homicide in Oakland, California in the early hours of Friday, November 11. The victims have been identified as lesbian couple Patricia Wright and Charlotte Reed and their son Toto “Benny” Diambu-Wright.

'Picketing' the Daily Mail is not a good move.

Perhaps the 'picketers' were infiltrated by nefarious types in balaclavas, she says, in a whisper, but audible nonetheless.

silentcrow · 19/10/2018 18:47

Everard oh, I totally agree (I've been around for the Warrington and both Manchester bombings, I get it!) - I should have said more clearly that "they're only smoke pots, wouldn't hurt a fly" will be the defence they rely on when these idiots are called out on it. If they ever are, of course...one rule for them, one for everyone else.

Lang if it’s not reported, if it’s brushed aside, I’m going to wonder very darkly about the layers of behind-the-scenes string-pulling. There are rocks to turn over here.

Very much so.

DeRigueurMortis · 19/10/2018 18:58

I wonder if they knew the consultation was going to be extended....my guess is not.

If so, then what a silly thing to do.

If the Metro and Mail decides to report this then they will likely find they've just done one of the best GC Ad's ever....

nononsene · 19/10/2018 18:58

Attacking the press, how very trumpian.

LangCleg · 19/10/2018 18:58

Also, imagine if GC feminists ever do any serious organising stateside, where there are so many guns and nutcases ready to go on rampages with them.

PersonWithAVulva · 19/10/2018 19:07

The Metro hosted the Stonewall ad, the numpties.

Indeed.

And yes, I have seen on here a few times that the most dangerous time is after a woman tries to leave. Is this narcissistic rage then?

They know the tide has turned now. This will get worse I expect?

Ereshkigal · 19/10/2018 19:10

Hahahaha carry on peaking the nation, lovelies! What idiots.

JoanSummers · 19/10/2018 19:10

It was only a couple of days ago that Shon Faye (wrongfully) claimed that feminists were escalating and "inciting violence" against trans people. Didn't Owen Jones signal boost that?

And now TRAs are actually escalating their behaviour and threatening the press. The projection is so blatant.

We need to watch what they accuse us of. That will give an indication of what to expect from them.

What is a smoke bomb at a protest if it's not emulation of terrorism? It's glorifying terrorism and violence.

wingwarbler · 19/10/2018 19:31

100% this Joan.

HandsOffMyRights · 19/10/2018 19:38

I bet The Metro wishes it hadn't given in to printing Stonewall's ad.

Because no matter how much you capitulate if you 'wrong' them somehow, you're toast #CarolineLucas #AlisonMoyet

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 19/10/2018 19:39

No mention on BBC website

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/10/2018 19:47

@Sarahjconnor I was just thinking about your meeting and wondering whether the women you met know that the deadline for completion the consultation has been extended until 12 noon on Monday?

Might give them time to let other family/friends/wider community know about it.

'I bet The Metro wishes it hadn't given in to printing Stonewall's ad.'

I don't see there would have been any giving in about it. They sold some advertising space. It's what they do.
