"A woman made me do it"
"Women's rights activists did this to discredit us"

OvaHere · 19/10/2018 18:05

Let's hope this makes the papers over the weekend because the consultation has been extended until Monday.

nauticant · 19/10/2018 18:07

Well, if it's true that the time limit to respond to the GRA consultation has been extended till next Monday I would hope to see this event widely covered in the weekend newspapers with a prompt for readers to complete the consultation.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/10/2018 18:07

Really Ova?

nauticant · 19/10/2018 18:08

That's not fair OvaHere. I thought of it first but was distracted in posting straight away.

OvaHere · 19/10/2018 18:09

Yes there's a thread. Extended until noon Monday. I think because of the volume and the site issues.

Gncq · 19/10/2018 18:10

Wise women here predicted they would escalate. As each one of their more "subtle" methods to get women to STFU backfires they need to resort to more extreme methods.

I wonder where this will end?

The abused girlfriend leaving the abuser analogy is 100%.

placemats · 19/10/2018 18:10

Male pattern violence. Intimidation is second nature for these guys.

Normally it’s difficult for the police to infiltrate terrorist cells because police officers look like police officers but how difficult would it be to plant some burly bloke in an unconvincing wig inside an organisation made up of burly blokes in unconvincing wigs?

terryleather · 19/10/2018 18:12

Lisa Muggeridge has had this pegged for a while.

I was just about to post something similar but you beat me too it!

LM has been saying for weeks that things will escalate...

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 19/10/2018 18:15

Aspie Grin They could also put in a young woman with blue hair. She would be invisible to the burly types which could be helpful.

JoanSummers · 19/10/2018 18:15

It's obvious things would escalate. This is absolutely textbook narcissistic abuse. This is also what abusive males do to women when we say No to them.

The only question for me is how far will they be allowed to go before the media and politicians step up and speak out?

ToeToToe · 19/10/2018 18:16

Oh we'll be told it's jut a couple of smoke bombs in pretty colours, and legitimate demonstration.

Stop making a fuss silly women! Of course these aren't narcissists, and you'll be perfectly fine, and not at all intimidated when they're in the next bed on a hospital ward.

silentcrow · 19/10/2018 18:22

If these "smoke bombs" are what I think they are, they're pretty harmless - we mucked about with them at uni as stage effects and they're only a few quid on Amazon, you just have to be over 16 to buy and that's probably because of the included lighter. Rather like sparklers in terms of threat level, not explosives.

Still disruptive and shouldn't be set off in the street, of course, but plausibly deniable against charges of terrorism. Disturbing the peace, sure. Idiotic, definitely. Not minimising the stupidity by any means, but "bomb" is a misnomer.

JoanSummers · 19/10/2018 18:27

It's not just smoke bombs in isolation though is it?

There were bomb threats.
There has been violence.
There has been vandalism.
There has been threats of serious violence - those bats studded with nails, the threats on social media made by men holding knives and other weapons, men wearing t shirts covered in the fake blood of "terfs".

This is not an isolated incident and it should not be treated as such.

EverardDigby · 19/10/2018 18:28

"bomb" is a misnomer

Well yes, probably in relation to what they actually are, but bearing in mind London has been on high alert for terrorist incidents, the capacity to cause fear is higher than it might otherwise have been.

Wasn't there that bloke who got arrested for just joking about a bomb at some airport?

kayaking · 19/10/2018 18:29

But apparently women have no reason to be afraid of these people!

placemats · 19/10/2018 18:30

Try putting smoke bombs off during the height of the troubles in Northern Ireland. Fireworks were banned there for a while.

Smoke bombs in the middle of London creates panic and it's not at all harmless.

What a bunch of fecking eejits.

BrickByBrick · 19/10/2018 18:33

Given tensions in London at the moment setting off smoke 'bombs' is an incredibly dim thing to do.

Joan you forgot to add on the end of your list 'and the police do nothing' Then '3 women handing out leaflets and the mounted police arrive' Hmm
(Really comprehensive list though)

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/10/2018 18:36

They were picketting the Daily Mail apparently
