Last Chance to Respond to Gender Recognition Act

If, like me, you're worried about the impact of the GRA on our children, today is the last day to respond to it.

Anyone can submit their opinion. Fair Play For Women have got a great webpage which will do the submission for you (read it and check you agree!!)

Link here.

I've submitted my opinion. Let us all know what you think!

Wistful and anyone else having problems - you can email your responses. Copies of the questions can be found on the FPFW and WPUK websites.

53rdWay · 19/10/2018 15:38

Recommend that if you want to put any detail in your response, you send it by email rather than fill in the online form as the online form is falling over a lot at the moment.

I am more confused than ever after reading some of the threads here.
I have come to the party very late, I have never met a trans person, I thought it was pretty simple, all about gender dysphoria. But apparently not, there's phrases like non binary being used, I had no idea what any of that is.
I want women to be safe, but I don't want to discriminate against anyone.
I am too far behind to make an informed decision.

bitheby · 19/10/2018 15:52

Site is so slow. Each page is taking an age to load.

HandsOffMyRights · 19/10/2018 15:59

Bump

Annandale · 19/10/2018 16:02

That's fine ihope. I don't think anyone should feel pressured to fill this in.

GatheringHerBrows · 19/10/2018 16:05

ihopeyourcakeisshit, you're not too late to the party at all.

You don't need to answer all the questions if you're not sure. And you could use Fair Play for Women's single click consultation response if you'd like to:

fairplayforwomen.com/email/

You get to read the response before you submit them, so you get to make sure that you agree with them.

GatheringHerBrows · 19/10/2018 16:07

But as Annandale says, there shouldn't be any pressure to complete the consultation.

This can't and won't stop when the consultation closes; we need to continue to build on this 🙂.

LiverpoolReSisters · 19/10/2018 16:07

You don't need to answer all the questions. The last question is open ended so you could just email them your reply to this thread, Ihopeyourcakeisshit.

chickendrizzlecake · 19/10/2018 16:28

Done. Took over an hour as each page took an age to load, but got there in the end. Kettle going on now.

After I lost my eloquent response to Q14 and had to rewrite it from scratch I really recommend putting your answers into a word document or similar and pasting them over as each page loads.

Well done everyone. All our voices count.

SuffragettesStruggledForThis · 19/10/2018 18:12

I filled out the consulation yesterday, but today I was looking at the intro to it and now I'm worried. I gave them my full name and I gave them my email address, but I didn't give them any address information. It says the form must be filled out, but it doesn't say which parts of it are compulsory or not. It clearly suggests that the email isn't by the comment that if you give it, an acknowledgement will be emailed to you. However, I'm worried about the address bit. Will they discount my response because I didn't give this even though I wrote a lot?

Waterparc · 19/10/2018 18:20

It has been extended till Monday

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 19/10/2018 18:22

TRAs have just smoke bombed the metro in retaliation for the fair play for women ad they ran encouraging people to fill out the consultation

there are some people out there who REALLY don't want you to fill it out

just sayin'

charlestonchaplin · 19/10/2018 18:32

I don't think anyone can give you a definitive answer, suffragettes, but I hope they do count your answer. The extension is heaven-sent for me as I didn't think I'd have enough time to input my responses

WistfulBarnacles · 19/10/2018 20:46

It took me over 90 minutes to do but on the plus side, DH came back from shopping whilst I was doing it and asked if this was something he should be filling in too Too right I said and directed him to the Fair Play for Women webpage - hurrah

SuffragettesStruggledForThis · 19/10/2018 21:19

Because I didn't include the address, do you think it would be a good idea for me to fill it out again and include it this time? I've got all of my longer answers saved in a Word document and would only have to write a new version to one. Or do you think that would get taken as an attempt to stuff the consulation and get both answers discounted?

Ellie56 · 19/10/2018 21:41

Deadline has been extended until Monday:
