I know that this has been done to death, but was watching Newsnight last night with Amy Challenor and the 2 tw on the panel. Who are obviously men. Albeit in frocks and doing the soft lady voice.
It just so Orwellian. You have to believe i'm a woman. Ok, i'm obviously a man. But because I feel i'm a woman YOU have to feel i'm a woman. Or else .
Displaying typical male bullying characteristics while simultaneously being all hurt and sensitive.
And they're always about me me me.
I care about women's safety but for me, this trumps everything. Once we start legislating on feelings not facts we're fucked

“How many fingers am I holding up Winston?”

“Four. Four. No, ow, five! Transwomen are women! Make it stop!”

Was just wondering if multi award winning gender advocate Pip Bunce gets paid 10% less on his days working in a frock...

They're still inviting Amy Challenor to be on TV, etc? S'truth...

FloPen · 19/10/2018 10:26

Exactly.

Mind you, I think Newsnight might have peak transed a few people.
But it's interesing that all of this has 2 streams. A valid concern about the erosion of women's rights. And quite separate issue of on what basis do we create legislation.
I don't think enough is said in the dialogue about 'no, you're NOT a woman'. Because people are afraid of being unkind.

They said they asked other transpeople but they refused to appear on a programme with 'transphobes'. The trans lobby obviously hoped that the piece would be cancelled as has happened before.

Except it sounds as if there were only pro-TRA people on the programme anyway?

As we're saying on the War Cannot Be Won thread:

Eppur si muove!

I see the number of fingers.

I was shocked to see Aimee Challenor on Newsnight last night. We had just switched it over and there was Aimee being interviewed, but I didn't quite catch it.

What we did catch was Aimee saying 'transwomen are women, get over it' and my DH, who I think has peak transed but has no skin in the game and likes to 'stay out of it' (I know I know, but we have been through it loads of times and we are both sick of me talking about it at home I think!) definitely had a Hmm face on.

No, it was Newsnight last night. Filmed with Kathleen Stock and Nic Williams and had Ruth Serwotka in the studio. Plus Debbie Hayton for the transsexuals.
