I'm amazed that the cognitive dissonance involved in standing up and preaching about the importance of safeguarding doesn't make Mordaunt's head explode, quite frankly. And then she said she had no idea of the issues the (very calm and reasoned) protestor spoke about.

Just so, so depressing.

It's striking how much more willing she is to listen to women when the magic word "gender" isn't invoked.

And yes, how was she not aware of the issues already given her involvement in the event?

Agreed. The utter and obvious cognitive dissonance involved in, on one hand, compiling a list of sexual predators who take advantage in order to infiltrate aid organisations that will give them access to women and children; and yet at the same time a point blank refusal to acknowledge how this very same thing is going to happen as a result of self ID. In fact it is already happening. Astounding and bewildering!

Having Save The Children oversee the process is rather fox/henhouse, as the protestor pointed out.

I agree there is a dissonance here, but sadly I think any similarities between this and the self-ID issue are lost on both Penny Mordaunt and the protester herself, Alexia Pepper de Caires, "intersectional feminist Jedi in training". Looking at her Twitter account, I would bet on Mordaunt seeing the issues first.
