Public bodies endorsing Stonewall consultation response

Just to say how much am enjoy the hammering that GCHQ are getting on twitter, for adding their logo to the woke-fest ad in the Metro.

Obvs as a government body they have broken all sorts of codes and possibly the law by doing this, and I am allowing myself a quiet fantasy that Stonewall led them to believe they were just lending their support to a jolly nice statement of wokeness, not actually to pre-prepared responses to a live government consultation.

Can I pretend for a while that someone is massively in the shit about it?

Don't spoil my fun and say they knew exactly what they were doing and couldn't give a stuff.

I first read GCHQ as GGHQ (i.e. Girl Guides) then it hit me - GCHQ at Cheltenham (I think)??? That one? What are they playing at? I wonder if they also have some work experience person dealing with this, as so many organisations have done (LibDems etc.) Idiots.

Honey, I keep reading all about it and thinking "What? Everyone knows that Mumsnet FWR is GCHQ."

What Government codes do you think Stonewall have broken?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/10/2018 21:30

It has been suggested that the companies involved weren't entirely clear what they were endorsing.

The National Crime Agency is another one that has tweeted its support for the Stonewall campaign.

I presume this is a very sensitive subject for HQ after how they treated Alan Turing.

I suspect it's no coincidence there was nothing contraversial in the metro wording. This was presumably to get agreement from the companies who may have thought twice about explicitly agreeing to self id, or the removal of the biological class of female. However yes, GCHQ of all organisations have no excuse for not doing a little bit of due diligence of what was behind the link or what was unwritten message stonewall were trying to present.
