Glasgow women's aid on Twitter

GWA have tweeted some GC stuff today and are quite vigorously defending their tweets as well. I could cry with pride that someone from women's services has finally been brave enough. I've tweeted on the thread to show support, thought others may wish to as well. I have no idea how to link to a twitter thread though!!!! Their twitter handle is @GWA1973

Apologies if this is a cross-post with anyone else, I did a search to see if anyone else had posted about it but couldn't find anything.

I’m not on Twitter, do you have a link?

pennydrew · 17/10/2018 15:09

Just copy the url and post the link?

Had a look but it just seems to be a spat with some pro-GRA people who are pushing them to state that they are trans-inclusive. They are being very careful in their responses and are obviously feeling the pressure:

"There seems to be differing opinions within groups and other women's organisations. Hardly surprising. What I find really alarming is that many people are afraid to speak out, even to ask questions around this issue."
"I previously stated that any changes to service provision were under discussion and we don't generally share details online. We have been exposed to dreadful online bullying, so that's what I'm commenting on."

They look wonderful. I'm not on Twitter but they have my support

I work with women in the CJS and I'm royally pissed off that my so called colleagues in 'reform' have had very little to say about that Karen White shocking case and the GRA consultation. That's because of funding and they're scared shit less of coming out and saying what they think.

I'll be going over to twitter and having a look at GWA to see what they have to say as on my trends Transequality is trending.

Thanks for heads up, OP.

Oh, I just went back to try and link to it and it looks as if it's been taken down, I can't find it :(

Last month they posted gender critical stuff on their FB page and then had to remove it (got a flurry of donations from here though).

For some reason - a lot of men seem to follow this account. Baffling. Like me following a Viagra account.

Did anyone get any screenshots?

Hidingtonothing · 17/10/2018 15:56

I can still see it on Posie’s FB page but link won’t open in safari, only through FB
