Anyone else cross out ‘gender’ and write ‘sex’ instead when filling out application forms?

I wrote ‘gender is a social construct’ above the correction.

Anyone else?

Yes...it really irritates me.

I actually think a lot of the use of 'gender' rather than 'sex' is down to typical British prudishness over the word 'sex'.

I do

Also when you get an online form and it asks you to define your own gender in a free text format I quite like them as I get to rant...

Mamaryllis · 17/10/2018 14:50

Loz- yes.

Yes.

I tried to get to the bottom of why gender was asked for instead of sex on a medical consent form recently. Several phonecalls later I was advised to email Public Health England with the question. I haven't heard back from them yet, it'll be 2 weeks tomorrow
