I'm thinking Owl should stick to Owl's day job (is there one?)

The film was hilarious, but the comments on here were even better. I'm going to need incontinence pads for my computer chair if you lot keep this up.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/10/2018 01:08

Just realised it's the short only and the feature length (9 minutes) is coming later and will be released at film festivals. Hope there's lots of footage of that cat.

leeloo1 · 14/10/2018 01:23

Where do they live that they have a wall that's about 20ft high, (how tall is Penny's ladder to peer over it? Could they not put a window in for her, to make it easier?) but the fence is so low that Penny can easily lean over it to pull the sheets back?

Datun · 14/10/2018 01:26

Ooh CottonTailRabbit your narrative was far more interesting. I was actually quite hooked.

KeiTeNgeNge · 14/10/2018 03:25

That wall and fence are probably made by the same people who make those L shaped sheets for movie sex scenes Grin

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 14/10/2018 09:11

I think Owl may have bought out Poundland's entire stock of glue before making this film.

TheGoddessFrigg · 14/10/2018 09:17

Owl’s film sounds like the Home Bargain version of The Lives of Others

Looking back, I properly cringe when I think how naff it was, and how glad I was that he never replied or mentioned these "slips" of my texting fingers.

Haha I did this too Grin

Can't wait!

Hmm. Their "This is what Non-Binary Looks Like" video.

"Gender identity and gender expression are two different things. The fact that I present as feminine/masculine does not make us any less non-binary. It's just clothes. It's just presentation. It's just a form of expression."

Just a form of expression. Really? Looks to me like a bit of a power play. You'r born a sex, take steps to look like the opposite sex, insist people call you neither. As a way to keep everyone around you walking on eggshells, policing their own language. Power play. I'm sure it makes Fox and Owl feel very much in charge.

HamiltonCork · 14/10/2018 14:14

Can't wait for the full version. I love watching stuff that's so shite it's good.

BettyDuMonde · 14/10/2018 14:23

Owl is a better at acting than Owl is at writing.

DoYouLikeBasghetti · 14/10/2018 14:31

Lol

timetodothis · 14/10/2018 14:34

Were they both trans women arguing?

Yes. They are both Trans women.
There are obvious male features on both of them. Prominent brows, shape of the chin, etc.

It's amazing how the human brain can tell straight away whether a person is male or female.

LassWiADelicateAir · 14/10/2018 14:48

Based soley on videos I don't think Owl looks trans. If I knew nothing about her I would assume she is a woman.

The same applies to Kristina Harrison, although obviously Kristina Harrison and Owl have nothing in common other than being trans.

I cannot wait for the full version. That was hilarious! Everyone pretending that they can't tell that they're all trans.

I really didn't understand the drunken violence in the middle.

Loved the cat.

DoYouLikeBasghetti Could not leave this thread without a nod to your username. DH and I love What we do in the Shadows - you have reminded me to watch again, as I could certain do with a bloody good laugh right now.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 16:03

I really didn't understand the drunken violence in the middle

I'm assuming it's a nod to the whole "transwomen suffer male violence, and you have to give us space in your rape shelters and refuges" trope.

And as the neighbour was so clearly trans, I didn’t understand two trans women arguing about which was a real women

That was what I found so confusing. I got that Owl was representing a transwomen. I don't understand whether the older transwoman was meant to be a transwoman or a woman. And equally I wasn't sure if the transman was meant to be a transman or a man Confused

BrickByBrick · 14/10/2018 20:23

I think Owl may have been getting advice from AIBU. We should be proud of Owl, instead of seething away and posting about their neighbour talking about them, they confronted the neighbour and had it out with them.

Owl, I salute you, you are a shining example for AIBU.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 22:00

To be fair this is only a section of a movie, it might make more sense with the missing scenes in the middle.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 22:33

Or at the star and end, or where ever the new scenes fit.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 23:30

Start* and the end.
