Here's your handy guide for how to fill in the GRA consultation '....'to make life a bit easier for transpeople' Hmm and it's written by a 'non-binary' writer. And the first line of the article is about how one in every two transpeople have tried to kill themselves

I'm not even surprised any more, I'm just sick and tired of this shit

If any of you lot are the ones who have been commenting on that article, I love you all! I am still too chicken shit to put my head above the parapet and say something, but I may have liked a couple of the comments Smile

Interesting. So, like the transphobic shit bag I am, I’ve just been reading the other articles by Vic Parsons for The Pool. In the earliest, May this year, Vic Parsons had been waiting for referral to the gender identity clinic for 12 weeks or so. They say

Coming out as trans is different to coming out as gay. Being gay, no action is required from others – but being trans requires other people to change the language they use to address you, their behaviour towards you, to question their own biases

Issue acknowledged in article 1 they wrote on being ‘non-binary’.

It’s compelled speech.

Also, they are hella fond of the statistic in their articles, all of which usually link back to Pink News or other venerable publications who fact-check thoroughly...

That's like an AA introduction NoSquirrels -

  • "I'm a transphobic shit bag."
  • "Welcome to the group NoSquirrels"

My name is NoSquirrels and I’m a transphobic shitbag. I found myself here in a series of tragic circumstances. Once I thought that being nice about pronouns was the polite thing to do. But soon I was reading more and more, and thinking more and more, and talking more and more, until I finally realised men (and women) didn’t give a shit that my children could be in unsafe places and situations because “notions of biology are outdated”. I started responding to petitions, wrote to my MP, put my name to letters for Girl Guiding.

I am NoSquirrels and I’m a radicalised transphobic shitbag*

*(I still think most trans people are just ... people and I would use preferred pronouns and wish everyone well to live their best life etc. Just am opposed to laws making life easier for scumbags and abusers etc. As I say, total transphobic shitbag.)

Thanks for sharing NoSquirrels. For me it started with the small things, but now I can't go a single day without thinking something horrendously transphobic like "women should be able to have a female do their smear test" or "men shouldn't be in women's prisons".

Saw this in Facebook and came straight on MN to see if it was being discussed. I’ve been thinking of unfollowing The Pool for a while now and this has just put the nail in the coffin.

Me too. I might message them and tell them why as well. They are totally misjudging and underestimating their core audience.

@Elephantinacravat - good idea, I’ll do the same as I want them to know why but I’m not brave enough to post in the FB comments for fear of backlash.
