I've just had a discussion with someone I vaguely know who has worked for ACAS for years. They have patiently explained to me that many of their clients have been 'born in the wrong body' and that I'm just not seeing it right.
This is someone who used to fight for women's rights and now can't say for certain what a woman is, because 'everything's so variable these days.' They are only 6 or 7 years younger than me but I got a strong 'I'm sad you're so old-fashioned you're having difficulty understanding' sub-text.
