Delurking with a thank you

Just wanted to thank all the posters here for peak transing me and waking up the dormant radical(ish) feminist within Smile

It’s been a long while since I’ve felt so fired up about anything like this and reading all your posts has inspired me toward some tiny actions (midway through the GRA consultation response now)

Will probably go back to lurking now, but I’m sure that there are more like me who are reading and listening and taking this all on board so thank you!

Welcome Birds!

I like radical-ish. That describes me too. And like you I started lurking (nearly 2 years ago now) and then slowly realised everything that's at stake and how much it matters - not just to me but to all women.

Good luck with the GRA response. When there seem to be so few ways to make our voices heard it's really important to take them when we can.

Thank you, Birds. Thank you to all the posters on FWR, all the lurkers, all the women and all the allies who are in this. Flowers

i'm delurking to say thank you, too.

i keep thinking i've reached a peak and oh, look, there's something else to peak me some more. it's like the effing lake district round here.

i'm all in now. doing everything i can.

Welcome Birds.

Hello Birds and always I'm a recent delurker too. Leeds City Council was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. It can be quite tiring climbing all these peaks, so it's nice to do it in company I find! Smile

It's so heartening when lurkers de-lurk :)

Please, stay de-lurked.

Serfisafleur · 11/10/2018 22:18

You peak transed but it will happen again take my word you will get fired up again but you're in the club now keep at it

DeRigueurMortis · 11/10/2018 22:40

Thanks OP.

It's really heartening to hear that people are lurking and listening.

I used to post here a lot (under a different UN) but found myself getting incredibly stressed and close to breaking talk guidelines repeatedly, so I had to take a break.

I've never stopped my efforts in RL, but I'm now getting back in the saddle on social media.

It's vital to get as many women responding to the consultation as we can.

I can honestly say I feel this is the biggest single issue for women since the Suffragette's campaigned for the right to vote.

Yet it's gone unnoticed by so many people - predominantly as many media outlets have failed to report on it.

Being anti self ID does not mean you are transphobic.

It's a lazy and unhelpful argument.

I personally believe that SID is detrimental to to people suffering from gender dysmorphia. Opening up the opportunity for people who will use this potential change in law for nefarious reasons is not in the interests of the trans community.

It's good to see sisters speaking out. We can all do our bit to protect each other. X
