Trans attack on Fund for refuges

Jeanhatchet · 11/10/2018 07:45

Hi Women,

Just to let you know my ride for murdered women was subject to attack from trans activists yesterday afternoon.

They accused me of stealing the money to pay for Fair Play adverts which is a blatant untruth.

Wearside Women will confirm today that they have properly received fully transparent accounts for the donated money which transfers directly from Go Fund Me to them without ever touching my account. I do this for exactly this kind of reason!

The upside is - their nasty little tricks resulted in people donating £1000 altogether in a few hours. Thanks to anyone who did. ❤️

That showed em. Women are mighty.

Tempting to sue for defamation?

I would contribute to a crowdfunder for this tbh. They are horrible horrible dickheads.

Also, donated.

WerewolfNumber1 · 11/10/2018 18:42

Donated.

Thank you for sticking your head over the parapet.

FlippinFumin · 11/10/2018 18:44

I am really sorry you are having to suffer this Jean. Please know that some of us might not always say it, but we do appreciate everything you all do putting your names out there and your heads above the parapet.

I have donated too Flowers Long may you be able to continue x

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 11/10/2018 19:06

Just donated, thank you Jean for everything you’ve done and for standing up to the TRA bullies 💪❤️

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 11/10/2018 22:07

Bump for the evening crew 👋

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/10/2018 22:13

Thanks for your tireless work.
I will be making a donation in the morning.
Mine will be small, but lots of small ones add up. Flowers

KatVonGulag · 11/10/2018 22:14

I saw this blow up yesterday (I think your tweets are now protected jean)
I saw how upset you quite rightly were.

Sometimes when i think they can't go lower, they do.

I've donated to your cause and I'm tempted to buy a ticket to the award ceremony.
Thank you so much for all you do for women. Fighter x

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 11/10/2018 23:09

Sorry they attempted to splatter you with their contents of their nasty deranged minds Jean.

Also, thoroughly delighted to see how spectacularly the tactic has backfired. Nice to know that Wearside Women in need will be benefiting financially as a direct result of that particular display of twitter vileness.

AncientLights · 12/10/2018 10:25

Donated. And bumping.

Dragon3 · 12/10/2018 13:44

Wow! So glad to see your donation total keep rising today, Jean. An own goal for the bullies.

2rebecca · 12/10/2018 14:15

Another donation and another person who has changed their charitable giving over the past 6 months due to this. Now it's mainly women and the environment and the environmental charities get scrutinised for misogyny

JackyHolyoake · 12/10/2018 18:06

Yes, I have redirected all my monthly charitable donations + Labour membership fees to these initiatives:

TransgenderTrend
FairPlayForWomen
StandingForWomen
WomansPlace
JeanHatchetGoFundMe

Barbadosgirl · 12/10/2018 18:14

Thank the TRAs, OP. If it were not for them I would not have seen this thread and I would not have known about this fantastic cause to which I have just donated!

DeRigueurMortis · 12/10/2018 18:39

When I think TRA's have plumbed the depths in terms of "stunts" to promote their aims, they keep on proving me wrong.

What is wrong with these people?

The irony of wanting to literally be a woman and then pissing over the efforts of a woman (using her own actually sweat) raising money for women just begged belief.

I'm so damn angry on your behalf Jean.

The silver cloud here is it's yet another home goal - they've discredited themselves (and by association their cause) by their slanderous and unfounded accusations, whilst also raising your profile and thus donations.

drinkswineoutofamug · 12/10/2018 19:04

There's been over £2000 donated since I donated yesterday. Amazing!

Budgieinaberet · 12/10/2018 23:34

Bumping
Because

newtlover · 13/10/2018 17:41

bumping again- too many women turned away from refuges for lack of space as it is, we can't lose what small provision we have

TheProvincialLady · 13/10/2018 17:51

Thank you for this reminder, I had been meaning to donate anyway but this has reminded me to do it now.

What a great idea JackyHolyoake - I can donate to other causes now I’ve cancelled my Ocado, Guardian and Labour Party subscriptions. That’s £20 a month.

fiftyandfat · 14/10/2018 18:01

I read Erin Pizzey's book back in the 70s and have never forgotten it.
Women have had to work so hard, and still have to work so hard for every little bit of progress, every single crumb of so called equality. It is absolutely infuriating and depressing to realise how desperately unfair and mysogenistic the world still is.
I too have changed my charitable giving. I have already written to my MP but will write again.

fiftyandfat · 14/10/2018 18:30

Sorry about my spelling btw.
