Ok, one more 'crazy Sunday' joy for you lot:-

here are some TW's tin-hatting that women couldn't possibly be doing grass-roots stuff cos 'women and skills 'n all'

Weird, huh? Must be the 'big man in the sky' helping all these little women out?

Cos women couldn't possibly be graphic designers, marketeers, PR consultants, social media experts, lobbyists, policy makers coming together for an important cause whilst still being basic 'women'?

(Let's not even go there re. scientists, biologists, PHDs, academics, cleaners, administrators, stay at home mothers, baristas, taxi drivers, being just...well, just women mobilising when they're fucked off!)

Pumpkin, lovely, the crowdfunding success is down to the fact that this is an incredibly important issue for women. We get it, and we get the urgency. So we give our money.

So very strange, isn't it?

That has made my evening Grin

They're such fucking sexists. And really don't have a clue.

UpstartCrow · 07/10/2018 21:47

Hey, we can do all that and the childcare and ironing! Baffling, amirite? Grin

HamiltonCork · 07/10/2018 21:59

What a pair of sexist arseholes.

pombear · 07/10/2018 22:11

I know, eh?

'Who created all those logos and all that imagery? says Christine.

I don't know, Christine, maybe pissed-off women who have the skills!

"It's weird how these groups suddenly appeared and suddenly get crowdfunding success" says Pumpkin.

Maybe it's because women were fucked off, have money, and supported the causes they care about?

No consipiracy. Just women, doing 'womenning' which seems a mystery to you both!

Lol!

Ah Christine. Priceless.

Do you think there's an opportunity to plug Trans Britain in the thread? Grin

WatchThePotatoesBoil · 07/10/2018 22:43

You're wrong pombear. Don't you know it costs literally millions of thousands of hundreds of pounds to create graphics of the deep, multi-layered sophistication currently employed by women's rights organisations?

  • and according to Christine "Buy My Book" Burns, you "just don't see that happen" apparently.

She should know: It cost over £1000 in Pritt Stick alone to assemble the cover for Trans Britain and even then some of the yellow letters kept falling off.

Graphics is complicated. You need to be exceptionally good with scissors and coloured paper.

ILuvBirdsEye · 07/10/2018 22:49

Coordination from several quarters at the same time - absolutely! We are 50% of the population and we haven't all joined in yet...

Lazypoolday · 07/10/2018 22:52

Oh ffs. are they, of all people, trying to insinuate that there is some mysterious organisation funding women pushing back against their nonsense? The people who have somehow managed to infiltrate schools, government, children's organisations, city councils etc etc.

No, couldn't possibly just be that women are sick of their shit and have some skills beyond cooking and looking after the kids.

ToeToToe · 07/10/2018 22:55

I can't believe I just read that. They really have no bloody idea, do they? One of the replies:

That's hilarious. Maybe because we haven't spent our whole lives wanking over anime porn we've developed some useful skills along the way

Oh, how they underestimate women.

Artesia · 07/10/2018 23:05

It’s all that time we’ve spent helping our children fashion motte and bailey castles out of papier-mâché mache, and making lifelike representations of Twirlywoos and Disney Princess out of icing to sit on top of birthday cakes - it has honed our design skills Christine.....

Badstyley · 07/10/2018 23:07

Women are really quite good at doing shit. We get to do enough of it. You’d think that as this person is a real woman, and has always been a real woman, they’d know.

ManinPink was thought provoking on this the other day:

twitter.com/GNCmaninpink/status/1047455815567904768

There are many thoughtful points in that thread that highlight that grass roots organisation fundamentally depends on women.

Some of these women that have been called "handmaidens" aren't going to budge. Many of them are hardened Labour / anarchist activists. They wont budge position and will stand by and even take part in the harassment, doxxing and violence against radical feminists & allies.

3. For example the attack on Bristol WNTT event wasn't organised by TAs it was organised by feminist women in Bristol. Same with London, Brighton, Cardiff & Leeds. Where there's large pockets of already active feminist women there will be counter-demos to radical feminist events.

5. The refusal to challenge other women over self ID and just write them off as "handmaidens" will make sure Self ID will become law in the UK. TA's like many other men are crap at organising and only have gotten as far as they did through intersectional feminist involvement.

The whole thread is worth reading - that's the wisdom of someone who's been through a number of civil rights campaigns and knows that they can't be organised without women.
