Should we make the decision not to name, discuss or provide any material for L.M? Report any threads and posts that reference them? Refuse to be baited.

Fucking hell. I am leaving the Labour Party today.

Please don’t leave. There are many of us in the Party who recognise the detrimental effects changes to the GRA will have upon women’s rights, and we are trying to fight it. Stay in the Party, take a motion to your branch or CLP highlighting what’s happening. Most people just aren’t aware.

The Labour Party can only be changed from the inside - and it’s our Party just as much as anyone else’s. If all of us who are GC abandon the ship we’ve lost any control over the direction it takes.

I've long been sure that 'receipts' are being collected and collated and then presented to politicians etc

I remember Eden Ladley (NUS officer & transwoman) tweeting a very dramatic photograph of a piece of paper dropped from the first floor in an atrium which (apparently) had all of the offensive / hostile / aggressive tweets she had received.

I have seen some tweets from Ladley which would have (understandably) caused a reaction.

To make clear, I thoroughly condemn online harrassment and threats etc. Social Media discourse is often appalling, especially towards women

Surely only someone who has worked out that they are being cynically used and othered by a major political Party as a one-dimensional token to tick a box of inclusivity, (rather than being expected to meet the same standards that a woman in their post would need to meet, to be championed similarly- ie outstanding activity to benefit women in their voluntary post.. )..

.. Surely only someone who has had that kind of bitter realisation about their relationship with the Party and is furious about it, would decide to act in a way so incompatible with Nolan principles, as to publicly abuse the very group (women) that gave them their platform to any kind of public attention in the first place... justifying their apparent aspirations to be an MP.. . ?

I can imagine someone in that position might be trying very hard to grab attention and to establish themselves a big social media following before the Party can find a newer ‘face’ to champion that is less of a liability.

Labour should be ashamed of themselves, this is exploitation and not good at all for either side in the relationship.

My family were all very labour (business owners and workers who got involved in local politics). The older generation, now gone, wouldn't recognise this juvenile party of greed, envy, sexism, anti semitism, racism ans their hatred of wealth, with silly wee boys pulling strings and Corbyn just weakly letting it all happen.

Friendly reminder that if you use an archiving site it's harder to claim forgery. Not saying screen shots have been faked, but it's easy to do . Also they normally are captured without context, leaving them open to interpretation.
