Not sure if this has already been posted. Lily Madigan, the women's officer, saying that a group of women they disagree with can go fuck themselves. Labour are a fucking joke.

I wonder how Lily reconciles her tweets with being a speaker for “kinder, gentler, politics”. Wonder what she’ll have to say about that on 16 Oct.

ToeToToe · 07/10/2018 14:13

I just read the "Molly" thread on here - can't make head nor tail of it, to be quite honest. It's baffling.

I'm wondering when/how LW politics/Labour/Green Party etc was completely taken over by wet-behind-the-ears posh kids called Molly, Tristan & Nate - who claim be oppressed in various ways?? I think it might have happened while I was having babies/caring for young children. Suddenly the world has gone mad.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/10/2018 14:18

I live in hope that some day the trade unionists will regain control of the Labour party and all the people with names like Tristan PoshGit Summerville-Farquar will find something else to do when they're bored because they have too much family money to ever need a real job.

MaisyPops · 07/10/2018 14:20

I'd take bets on it being essentially 'this is my ideology and my story and my ideas and if you don't unconditionally affirm my view then you're not kind or gentle and have no place in politics. No platform anyone who doesn't agree with me. Ohhh you've drawn attention to the many times I've advocated violence and verbally abused women who don't agree with me?? The thing is that I was acting in self defence from all the literal violence I experience. You see it's hard being me. I'm a victim really. I'd love to be kind and gentle but those nasty women who disagree with me made me tell them to fuck off.'

See also when abusive men in domestically violent relationships say 'i love you and I don't want to hurt you but sometimes you make me so angry...'

I just snorted @ middle class adolescents with blue hair

Nothing against blue hair Smile

I expect any "initiatives" aimed at the Poor Folk will include promoting sex work as an employment opportunity and sanctioning benefits if they refuse

AnyFucker · 07/10/2018 14:29

I am deleted too. Oh well. Another day, another truth denied.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 07/10/2018 14:30

The womyn hatred is palpable. Disgusting.

ToeToToe · 07/10/2018 14:30

That's the direction we seem to be going, AF.

It saddens me to see the great Women's Liberation movement re-wound with such speed like this, and with such endorsement from young women.

ToeToToe · 07/10/2018 14:33

*young women like Molly etc - who actively campaigns for sex work as part of "working class struggle". I'm not referring to Madigan as a young woman, you understand.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/10/2018 14:35

What if I'm working class and I want to empower myself in ways to don't involve sucking a stranger's cock, Molly? What then?

As we are having problems with the rules of gendering people, please could @MNHQ let us know they would like us to gender Nasascha Kennedy / Mark Hellen of Goldsmiths University, and whether we should assume this is two people or one? I am confused as they seem to have one body but two identities, and I wouldn’t want to fall foul of any rules.

IStandWithPosie · 07/10/2018 14:46

Ok so we aren’t allowed to say that Lily is a [you know what goes here]. Are we allowed to replace any references to Lily being a woman with [redacted]? Because it would be untrue to say they are the W word, so we can redact it, yes?

Identifying and separating a group from the collective, then labeling them as the enemy for others to rally and unify against.......that has never ended well, but on the plus side, sooner or later people start seeing the real motives of the politicians that behave like this.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 07/10/2018 14:50

Put it away, Lily. We've seen it before and it's not impressive.

Floisme · 07/10/2018 14:50

I can see that this thread is being watched and have no intention of being goaded by Lily Madigan into picking up a deletion.

What I will say is that I can be pretty foul mouthed at times but, if I ever made a comment like that on official social media, I would be out before my feet touched the floor. And I think I would have realised that even at 20.

Labour party, sort it out.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/10/2018 14:52

Indeed. I'm a sweary bastard, but not when representing an employer, because that's unprofessional.

happydappy2 · 07/10/2018 14:52

I think Lilly’s days in politics are numbered, as pp said they will most likely blame transphobic hatred as the reason for stepping down, rather than acknowledging it was their own bad behaviour that people found offensive.

@VickyEadie I think it was Angela Raynor who said she was keeping her seat warm for LM.

When I resigned from the Labour Party I cited the self-Id issue and the disgrace that was LM and the poisonous anti-women tweets that were giving the LP a bad name.

As predicted, no one gave a shiny shit.

Of course it's being watched.

It's a classic strategy:

  1. Post something goady and offensive (that would see most people sacked from their jobs)
  2. Wait for people to understandably challenge the offensive and abusive comments
  3. Hope a couple of people over step the mark
  4. Screen grab as evidence of why the instigator is actually the victim

Behaviour like that has no place in politics. And actually having seen some of the genuinely transphobic replies to some of LM's comments, I think LM is doing a massive disservice to genuine campaigns for trans issues as I fear her actions will lead members of the public into seeing her type of activism as synonymous with genuine pushes to increase support for trans people (when that's far from the truth).

AdultHumanFemaleWoman · 07/10/2018 15:41

I doubt I will ever vote Labour again. This person, Jeremy and Ed Miliband hate women.
