Watching old Bake Off and became outraged by 'Donut Dollies' where women had to serve donuts to soldiers and had to always be cheerful and made up etc. Sexist shit. But I bet those girls thought it was fun and exciting to gain the approval of all the soldiers.
It's not always the case, but women tend to get more clued into sexist bullshit as they get older. When we are younger we can strive to look acceptably attractive, to please men and be popular etc. We don't spot harmful gender stereotypes and even reinforce them etc. Then gradually we get wise to it.
Could this be avoided if we educated our children more about inequality early on?
