I remember this from back in the late 90s and am so pleased to see it on telly again.
Jemma Redgrave as a brilliant 'stubborn and uppity and disrespectful' woman (my words!) trying to make her way as a doctor and help patients in the late Victorian times.
It's on the Drama Channel and on Drama catch up online.
The first episode in particular is very powerful without being preachy - perhaps helpful to those with teenagers with woke tendencies?!!
I'm going to watch episode 2 later.
(It makes it even more extraordinary to me how this was on when I was a late teenager but we have come now to be having this present fight 20 years later, but still!)
