What are MEN doing to tackle the huge number of rapes and sexual assaults committed by their SEX (not gender)

Then they wonder why we (most of us) don*t want them in our safe spaces, where women or children are in vulnerable situations.

It feels so overwhelming. These depraved, disgusting men - no, not all men but pretty much only men. What kind of tiny, warped, festering little minds must they have? It feels like there are so many of them, soaked in pornography and abuse so visceral and degrading and violent. It feels so bleak to read these things.

His nationality, religion or skin colour are irrelevant ( although the odds are that he's N Irish)

Men are the sex that commit 98% of all sexual assaults
That is why we need some facilities - where women and girls are vulnerable - to remain single sex, safe spaces.

However, we can't - and definitely shouldn't - try to keep men away from babies & kids - especially within families, where so much child abuse occurs

So men need to change
Those men who aren't rapey scum, need to drive this change
They need to stop waiting for women to sort out all the problems of society

Pornography is everywhere, 'barely legal' stuff and pictures of child abuse labelled as 'kiddie porn', making sound almost cute.

Something is encouraging this sense of entitlement to use and experiment with the bodies of others, whether it's animals, children or women.

There have always been a few evil sadistic men, but the frequency and severity of the atrocities seems to have increased,
both for individuals in our own country
and for whole movements in some other countries, e.g. rape and slavery returning as tools of war.

There is an Overton window in politics that defines the acceptable subset of political ideas.

Occasionally that gets dragged to the left or right - e.g. Attlee, Thatcher - and society changes dramatically within a decade

imo, the "Male Behaviour Window" seems to have been pushed massively to "Violent & Sadistic"

I suspect one cause is online pornography because that is a sudden social change, from tech innovation, that has never occurred before in human history
It is much more vivid than paper pictures or the written word
It can be used for hours in private, without social constraints
It stimulates the brain far more.

Particularly as some young men now will have started watching violent porn while they were still children

Some boys & men may be more vulnerable to its effects, just as some people can be far more easily adicted to alcohol, whereas others are mostly unaffected by its ready availability.

I'm in bed talking to my partner about this (she's a clinical psychologist), we've both agreed that pornography does probably have some effect on the brain and might result in some extensive usage causing desensitisation but without access to any studies backing that up I can't say for sure. I personally think porn screws with our brains and with conceptions of what a normal human being looks like and how they behave. My own solution is pretty simple... Avoid it, it's nonsensical stuff anyway. As to society, porn is too easily available and there are too many gullible young men and women out there still willing to do it, but that's the price we pay for letting 18 year olds achieve majority. What can I say, tell your kids not to do it?

As a man and a father I can say this news story is about the most horrible thing I can imagine and hopefully the creature will be killed fairly swiftly by a lifer while on remand. It's not something to blame on men as a whole and nearly all of us should vigorously resent that insinuation. One poster here suggested that the rest of us should do more against this sort of thing but I'd ask, how? I don't know any child rapists, a quick straw poll of my friends and family should reveal the same thing! Not quite sure what was going on there...

Change should start with changing the aggressive sexist behaviour that many men tolerate or even participate in

so first steps are shutting down any rape jokes or rape apologists as unacceptable,
making the social norm be that sex is only permissible with enthusiastic consent

We need Parliament making laws with serious penalties re sadistic porn,
especially for any supplier making it easily available to under-18s, or any adult not safeguarding kids from porn they use themselves.

The police, schools and SS need to enforce this

Schools need to invest more time in socialising boys wrt attitudes towards their future sexual partners
and again about enthusiastic consent being mandatory - all of which might help safeguard babies

It's ordinary normal men who have to set the boundaries as to what is acceptable among men.
Obviously no one is going to condone horrible acts such as this.
But 'locker room' type talk is where a normal decent man can shift things slightly in the right direction.
It's hard to swim against the tide, of course. GC feminists understand that well.

But you guys have to do something - maybe restigmatise porn ? That might chip at the problem a bit, any improvement is good. Or maybe you can think of something more efective, I'm no expert myself.
But you must actively do something rather than simply claim neutrality - otherwise, claiming namalt comes across as self absorption. Pleading innocence while not lifting a finger to help won't do much for current And future victims.
