Just spotted this on my way to work.

Anyone else seen this new campaign?

I think this is in Scotland Altogether?

As this is obviously targeted at women (specifically feminists) and utterly minimises and misrepresents their concerns, it makes it all the more outrageous that the 'adult human female billboard' was taken down.

Iused2BanOptimist · 03/10/2018 10:00

Begging for a sticker. I think that campaign is in Scotland. I will make sure I am prepared when I go there soon.

Fuck this shit. Critique of an ideology is not hate.

AltogetherAndrews · 03/10/2018 10:03

Yep, in Scotland. Unfortunately I can’t risk stickering, as it’s a small town and part of my team at work deals with graffiti clean up, so if seen I’d be fired. I have been risking my neck enough by speaking out, and have most of the office on side.

It seems so aggressive in tone, very much “we are watching you” Id be fascinated to know who is behind it.

deepwatersolo · 03/10/2018 10:03

Of course, no definition of transphobia. They don't do meanings of words, 'cause that would make their house of cards come crashing down.

AltogetherAndrews · 03/10/2018 10:05

Yep, it’s a threat, not interested in public education

OP posts:
Popchyk · 03/10/2018 10:06

Yeah, it doesn't really say anything. No evidence of this "hate" whatsoever of course.

But with a bit of luck it might inspire any curious passer-by to research the issues.

Oh dear lord it's ridiculous thing to put there. It just looks unhinged.

AltogetherAndrews · 03/10/2018 10:14

Yes a bit of an own goal, as in a quiet wee town, this is an issue that has up until now passed most people by.

phobia
ˈfəʊbɪə/
noun
noun: phobia; plural noun: phobias

<strong>an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.</strong>
<strong>"she suffered from a phobia about birds"</strong>

That poster admits that their "fear" of "transphobes" (however that's defined) is irrational.
Whoops!

Datun · 03/10/2018 10:15

Even if you put dear homophobes we have a phobia of your hatred. Or dear racists. It would still look unhinged.

littlbrowndog · 03/10/2018 10:15

Yeah it’s like what fresh shite is this from our government
That message does not deliver

terryleather · 03/10/2018 10:21

There's a dear racists one too Datun, I saw it yesterday.

Think there will be ones for each characteristic that's covered by hate crime in Scotland, so we'll never see one saying dear misogynists...

PerryPerryThePlatypus · 03/10/2018 10:21

Lets be honest their grasp of words and their meanings is a bit below par.

DontCisgenderMe · 03/10/2018 10:28

Dear misogynists, we have a rational fear of your hatred.

Dear men, we have a rational fear of your violence.

AbsintheFriends · 03/10/2018 10:29

It's the epitome of passive-aggressive gaslighting.

Women have legitimate concerns. This faux 'defender of moral high ground', ostentatious virtue signalling is absolutely designed to make those concerns unspeakable.

How is it allowed??

Barracker · 03/10/2018 10:34

How much is that advertising taking out of their policing budget?

And how much have they spent on anti misogyny advertising?

DontCisgenderMe · 03/10/2018 10:34

Dear people who want to put men in women's changing rooms

We have a rational fear of your motives.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2018 10:35

Let's be clear. If anyone does commit a crime motivated by an irrational hatred of trans people, they should be prosecuted accordingly.

What makes this poster threatening to women is that transactivists are calling women talking about women's rights and children's safety 'transphobic', and are wont to report such (entirely legal, afaik) activities as 'hate crimes'.

Datun · 03/10/2018 10:35

If women wrote, men we have a phobia of your hatred, it could be justified until the end of time.

But everyone would still think the people writing it were nuts.

Putting the transphobia one in with all the rest is indeed, not singling it out. But, the message is therefore completely diluted.

People are just going to think it's a whole load of hand wringing, bleeding hearts and ignore it.

They certainly aren't going to get invited onto TV and radio, like Posie.

Barracker · 03/10/2018 10:35

I heard stickerwoman visits Scotland regularly. I wonder if she's seen this?

ChilliJamandAvocado · 03/10/2018 10:41

Dontcisgenderme's slogan suggestions need to get themselves printed on stickers.

WickedLazy · 03/10/2018 10:51

Dear women, we have a phobia of your hatred [towards the patriarchy and misogyny]. Hate Crime. Report it. If you're an old school regular woman, nothing gets done about it.

I fixed that for them.
