I think this is a very useful article in a large circulation Tory newspaper in the middle of the Tory Party Conference.

I hope stunts by Boris Johnson in hayfields don’t distract attention completely.

I agree. I think (hope) people will be particularly shocked by the fact that transwomen mostly (a) retain a penis, and (b) still have a sexual orientation towards women.

ChrysanthemumsAreMums · 02/10/2018 21:56

A serious article by a serious woman.

Needmoresleep · 02/10/2018 22:03

Yes, probably a bit too serious for the Mail, whose readers want something a bit more spicy to help digest their tea and biscuits. Something that the Guardian really ought to be printing. Still it implies a useful editorial direction. If the DM will print something like this, hopefully more Tory MP will feel about to speak out.

Great article.

I shouldn't read daily mail comments. There's one on there insisting that it's feminists pushing for men to share our spaces, not men themselves Hmm

Great piece, fantastic work by Prof Stock. Really puts the consultation front and centre, so hopefully some people will fill it out? The readers who agree with the article may not know that there is an "academic argument" against self-ID to provide extra support for what most of us can already use our common sense to figure out. If people haven't been following this issue closely or come across the philosophical arguments before, this could be so valuable.
Big thank you to the Mail covering these stories.
