Yeah. Can't really say much more than that. I'm proud of my no strikes record.

Cooroo · 01/10/2018 23:36

What a chilling read. And it uses 'she' throughout. This individual has forfeited any right to have his delusions pandered to. Will this be recorded as a female crime?

GulagsMyArse · 01/10/2018 23:42

That is totally confusing.

GulagsMyArse · 01/10/2018 23:43

The pictures are of a man.

ShcfG · 01/10/2018 23:47

Ffs. What happened to truth in reporting?

Yes, chilling.

Redkeyboard · 01/10/2018 23:48

We can’t tackle male violence if we can’t even name it.

Crime stats need to be recorded under sex as well as gender identity.

arranfan · 01/10/2018 23:50

My understanding is that there's a push that means when people are allowed o change their birth certificates they will always have been the acquired sex, IYSWIM. So, even tho' the murder took places so long ago, the reporting has to be based on current identity.

There's some controversy over how this might be implemented with respect to, e.g., the Soham murders if this should come to pass. Will the crime stats be retrospectively updated (I don't think so but it's all very murky).

Karen Tunmore is a violent thug who was born and remains a woman, I believe.

Anonymatron · 01/10/2018 23:52

Hi all,

Just curious really.

Can you get into trouble with the law if you made a film/tv show/song/Work of art which was controversial? Entirely fictional but based on true life stories?

Just wondered

Angryresister · 01/10/2018 23:52

This is a male person and we all know it. How they be referred to as she. It's a lie.

TheSteveMilliband · 01/10/2018 23:59

Awful that we can't trust reports of a "woman"committing a crime but in this case I think she is a woman? Is there anything to suggest she isn't?

GulagsMyArse · 02/10/2018 00:02

Ok I'm really confused, I just read the BBC website and the pictures are different. I think it is a woman.

Numbkinnuts · 02/10/2018 00:05

What evidence is there that she wasn't born a woman?

JillyArmeeen · 02/10/2018 00:09

When I saw this reported earlier, without photos, I instantly wondered if it would be another crime being commited by a man but reported as a woman.
Now I've seen the pictures I think she is a woman.
Strange story, not helped by the fact it seems to be two articles crammed into one. Formatting or editing problem maybe.
Link to the other article might be helpful if anyone can provide it thank you in advance.

ShcfG · 02/10/2018 00:10

The Daily Mail pictures show a man.

GulagsMyArse · 02/10/2018 00:11

Its a woman, its badly written and the labelling of the photos is confusing,

GulagsMyArse · 02/10/2018 00:12

Horrible crime, I hope at least the family can get justice now.

JillyArmeeen · 02/10/2018 00:15

The fact that we are having to debate if this is a man or a woman clearly demonstrates the ridiculousness of the situation we now find ourselves in.
We should be able to trust the news to report crimes accurately.

GulagsMyArse · 02/10/2018 00:15

No the daily mail has been very bad with the editing. I thought the man was labelled Karen, but the man is the victim.

Very badly edited and laid out.

JillyArmeeen · 02/10/2018 00:17

Most of the information seems to be in there twice over. It's all over the place.

Rhynswynd · 02/10/2018 00:17

How bad is it that we can not believe the words in the press as to who committed a crime? That our immediate response is to wonder whether the perpetrator being described as "she" is truthful? I spent longer looking at the photos than reading about the horrific crime trying to figure out if I was being lied to and if I was being required to lie as well.

FlowersAndHerts · 02/10/2018 08:38

There is a Karen Tunmore registered as being born in Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1982. It's a very unusual name, so I assume that is her, and she was born a woman.
