Question about DBS checks

Apologies if this has been done to death but if anyone can answer it would be much appreciated.

If a person changes their name by deed poll and then submits a DBS application under their new name, does their previous name come up automatically in the check?

I think they're supposed to disclose all previous names. There is a sensitive applications route for people who don't want their previous identity to be known to their employer. No idea what happens if they fail to disclose previous names.
