Last night some lunatic on Twitter doxed Posie Parker, exposing photos of her family, her children, her home address and lots more personal information.

Thankfully quick reporting from Twitter users got it taken down

Let’s hope the police are onto this.

there isn't any malware there from what I can see. Besides unless you are the CIA you can't just hack someone's computer that easily.

From memory of my younger days, there are certain things you can do with only an IP address. However this relies on stuff such as outdated programs being on the target computer. Ben a very very long time since I knew any of this though, but I am positive that when people say nothing can be done with an IP address its false.

You can protect yourself by having a decent firewall, lik protecting yourself from many things.

Well possibly. But most of their visitors are probably men in nappies.

If they wanted to hack you, it would be better done by posting a link here, say, or sending a DM, or by email, or whatever. Because you don't know which of the thousands of people accessing are targets unless you have some way of identifying them.

But I don't think that's the goal. The goal is 'slut shaming' essentially, all critical women. And some intimidation on the side 'we know where you live'.
