Meeting MP report

Just seen my Tory MP this morning. Bit rushed but feel a bit encouraged. He says Victoria Atkins is looking carefully onto prisons, consulting prisoners as well as schools and children. He talked about the need to get things right and not disadvantage women for a small minority.
However think his understanding is pretty shallow. I stressed changes have been made to guidance on Equality Act already and that needs to be rolled back.
I asked him his take on Pip Bunce and he was a bit non plussed. Asked him if he'd be happy with him using changing room with his daughter and he said he'd expect him to use male facilities. I stressed that wasn't what this individual did. He said men have always dressed in female clothes and I said I was fine with that but they'd never claimed to be women which was the difference.
Left him with Transgender trend schools pack and FPFW report on refuges.
Think common sense might be going to prevail.

Well done. Hopefully this means that when this comes up in Parliament, rather than thinking "sounds complicated, better do what I'm told" he'll think "oh, women in my constituency are worried about this, maybe I need to think for myself".

Well done, OP! Sounds like you made some very good points! Thank you for speaking up for women.
