Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Girl Guiding situation Any Questions Radio 4

Any questions this evening on radio 4 will discuss goings on at GG according to the trailer just now. Jonathan dimbleby said 'volunteers have been sacked because they oppose the guides trans gender policy' or similar words.

Any questions is like question time but for radio with the other dimbleby brother.

Then listeners can ring in to have their say after the repeat on Saturday lunch time, on Any Answers.

Anu Anand hopefully

She's really bright. She knows up from down.

Redkeyboard · 29/09/2018 13:59

Did this happen?

KatyMac · 29/09/2018 14:02

Any answers is on now I think

PosieRulzOk · 29/09/2018 14:19

I've just scooted through the whole prog quickly on iPlayer and there wasn't anything on it relating to GG?

PosieRulzOk · 29/09/2018 14:20

Unless I missed it!

LittlePearl · 29/09/2018 14:29

No, there wasn't anything Posie.

Redkeyboard · 29/09/2018 14:32

How odd. Are you sure this was trailed @Manderleyagain ?

Where did you hear/see it?

Hornets · 29/09/2018 14:58

I heard that this question would be on the programme yesterday morning. It was announced on the Today programme around 8am (I think) as I was getting ready for work. I've just listened to the repeat of AQ today and it didn't seem to come up. (Have to admit I had it on in the background and was only half listening).

I'm going to check iplayer first but I think I'm going to write and ask them why this question didn't feature on the programme.

PosieRulzOk · 29/09/2018 16:09

I thought it was live?

ShakingAfterAllThis · 29/09/2018 16:15

On the trailers they are only surmising what questions might come up.

They don't decide the questions until the audience submit them as they arrive.

Attending Any Questions is a bit niche, typical audience 40+, you have to apply for tickets in advance.

I suspect that no / not enough / not good enough quality questions were submitted. Given it was trailed I think they maybe would have used a good question if one had been submitted.

Manderleyagain · 29/09/2018 17:24

@redkeyboard yes there was another thread about the same - someone else had heard the same trail - JD rings in to the Today Programme on Friday morning and it was him who trailed it - the only subject he mentioned! On the other thread someone said that's just a guess about the subject matter because they don't know the questions until the audience have arrived to submit them.

ShakingAfterAllThis has it. They often trail the programme with the questions that might come up. In my experience this kind of question usually gets pushed aside in preference to having long segments about Brexit or Trump.
