The way the studios treated the actresses was disgusting.

Does anyone know if Harry Potter's owl already had a name when he adopted her, or if he named her after Hedy Lamarr? ;)

I find it incredible that she lived until 2000 - she would have seen so much of her work put into practice, but also missed out on it becoming even more ubiquitous by (what feels like) only a few years.

Spanner knows how to spell. If I read her right, she's making a joke based on an old Mel Brooks film called Blazing Saddles.

The studios did a lot of damage re. the drugs Judy Garland was also hooked thanks to them.

(Though thinking about it, didn't she have a major sense of humour failure over Blazing Saddles? Oh well, in the words of another classic comic film, "nobody's perfect.")
