Do they see a "trans child""trans teenager" or do they see a child/teenager who identifies as trans?
By "They" I mean people like GirlGuides HQ. I think they see the former and think this is exciting and different. Stunning and Fucking Brave crap again.
But I see a trans girl guide as a older child/younger teenager. And just like any other older child/younger teenager that guide needs:
- to have boundaries set and to learn about the boundaries of other people
- to be protected from making unwise decisions, especially those made in the spur of the moment in a rush of teenage hormones
- to know that their job my be to rebel and experiment, but the adults' job is to be in charge.
And that is why I feel GirlGuides is failing its girls - and its trans girls too.
