By "They" I mean people like GirlGuides HQ. I think they see the former and think this is exciting and different. Stunning and Fucking Brave crap again.

But I see a trans girl guide as a older child/younger teenager. And just like any other older child/younger teenager that guide needs:

  1. to have boundaries set and to learn about the boundaries of other people
  2. to be protected from making unwise decisions, especially those made in the spur of the moment in a rush of teenage hormones
  3. to know that their job my be to rebel and experiment, but the adults' job is to be in charge.

And that is why I feel GirlGuides is failing its girls - and its trans girls too.

And failing it's trans boys. They are being massively failed when the policy is to throw out gender non conforming girls.

Frankly I don't mind if it does fail it's trans girls. In my opinion they have no business being there as they can't get a GRC till 18 so there is absolutely no excuse to include them at all..

I understand. It's about which arguments we use when etc,etc isn't it?

I think they see 'trans kids' and that's the issue really, they see these children as debating points, or scores in a game, where they score if a child transitions- there's no centring of the child, and no adult responsibility

Hm. This kind of ties in with something I've been thinking about, but it's a wider question really, so maybe I'll start a separate thread...
