You know that hilarious cologne stuff groomers spray your dog with in order to embarrass it in front of its friends?

Is there an equivalent for cats? One of mine has come in smelling of fox- and while I know he'll clean himself up in time, and I have blocked off most of the house, I would like to speed up the de smelling process if I can......

Get him to self-id as a dog?

You might get better answers in The Litter Tray.

"Get him to self-id as a dog?"
Grin
I could try the litter tray, but the only boards on here that scare me are the pet based ones.......

Tomato ketchup. Good luck on a cat though... you'll probably end up with redder hands than the poor cat Wink

You can probably use the dog stuff - presume it’s non toxic to all?

My dogs regularly get sprayed with this stuff - they are smooth coated (greyhounds) so don’t need a trim at the groomers, but they definitely think of themselves as cats and sleep on the sofa/bed (too bony for the floor).

I bought some expensive stuff at the local pharmacy and some cheap stuff from Aldi recently, both seem more or less the same.

There's always the risk your cat might smell like fox-and-papaya which might not be your goal but they do exist!

You can buy from pets at home spray on dog deodoriser.....I have a special anti fox poo one. I’m sure it will work on cats as well if you can hold the cat down for long enough to spray it.

Maybe your cat is self IDing as a fox.

NicoAndTheNiners · 23/09/2018 10:21

I think it’s called stink bomb spray.

Thank you. Will nip to Pets at Home. I usually avoid it because I want to buy all the guinea pigs.

I have a small but surprisingly strong and feisty long haired cat. She gets mats of fur on her belly that she will not let me brush out. Every few months I take her to a grooming parlour and pay someone else to do it. They get the scratches and I don’t have to be the bad guy. I consider this a win. Maybe take that route?

I have Wildwash fragrance no 2 and I use it on my hair.
I love it and have had no end of compliments (misses point entirely).
