Like a good parking thread, we need a diagram....

I was just thinking about all the different arguments against the advancement of trans rights activism and how they can get tangled in my mind.

Objections come from so many different perspectives:

-bad for children to have dislike of their healthy bodies affirmed
-risk of confused youngsters taking risks (pregnant girl guide issue)
-creation of an exception to important safeguarding processes
-bad for young people to have operations unnecessarily and not understanding the consequences
-predatory males exploiting the opportunity (women’s prisons)

• narratives of heroism ignoring other family members

-women’s sports including the male bodied -imposition of a quasi religious belief (albeit one not recognised as such) on others and that’s probably only about half.....

I am not v good at diagrams.....

The argument the other way is also confusing:
-catch 22 during transition re public toilets (how to live as a woman without causing distress whilst you look very Male
Etc, etc.

Mind mapping is a great tool and apps like Coggle can help with the diagram.

I disagree re-transition - my position is sex-based toilets/changing rooms etc - if a man wants to dress as a woman that's fine with me provided the guys make room for men like that.
