Razorblades/stickers- what other urban myths do you remember?

Little bit OT but the whole stickers/razorblades thing made me think of other scares:

Anyone old enough to remember glass in nerds?

Eating more than 5 Pushpops would give you cancer?

Eating peanuts and drinking lemonade while hanging upside down results in instant death?

There's a documentary on Netflix about urban myths that inspired horror films that includes the poison sweets supposedly handed out to kids on Halloween. It was a huge scare in the US. The only actual case was a father who poisoned his own kids and then faked the Stranger Danger story.

Think I said this before on here, but wasn't there a razorblade myth epidemic in the late 80s

Razorblades in apples
Razorblades in flumes (aka big slides at the waterpark)

"Touching a dandelion will make you piss yourself"

That was a classic.

They flush your head in the toilet on your birthday at "big school".

If you say “Women don’t have penises” three times in the mirror Dr Hardplop manifests and doxxes you.

Razorblades in flumes

Oh, I've just realised that the razor blades in the waterslides at Richmond that DEFINITELY HAPPENED when I was a child, may not have actually happened...

There's a woman I know on Facebook (via a shared interest group we both belong to) who is forever posting memes and I spend half my time on there telling her they're urban myths.

One that affected me personally, however came up on an episode of 'House', in which it was realised that a young man could not be his parents' son because he had a cleft chin dimple and neither of them did.

My partner said I went absolutely ghostly white on hearing this - I have one of these dimples but neither of my parents did - and hurtled to the laptop to look it up. Turned out to be bollocks.

The hilarious postscript is that I look half like my mother and half like my father - there is no doubting that both were my biological parents.

Never heard of glass in nerds nor pushpops but I imagine if you ate peanuts, drank lemonade and stood on your head you might have some digestive problems.

Mobile phones give you brain tumours.
Living near an electricity pylon causes depression.

Moving statues in Ireland. A prime example of social contagion. Some experts people put it down to eating too much cheese!

I remember the furore over fake transfers. My mother banned them from the house.
